Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Ugh, it's to the point that my stomach drops every time I'm checking my status. I got WL'd at Harvard today but the only place I care about anymore is Stanford! I need this to stop so I can accept reality and start planning for NYU or Berkeley.

Before, my primary email and secondary email were the same email, except that my primary email was ALL CAPS.
Now, my primary email has been changed to a different email address, and it's all lowercase.
My secondary email is still all lower case.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
(My file is still "submitted for review")

My email changed a few days ago, but my primary is still caps. YOU'RE IN! At least the evidence in this thread suggests as much.

I'm confused because my entire email address got changed - I thought the lower case phenomena was a case change, not a full on text change...ssanonymous wrote:CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Vincent wrote:Before, my primary email and secondary email were the same email, except that my primary email was ALL CAPS.

And it's Friday night, so I'm guessing I wouldn't find out until Monday.
What do you mean by your email changed, but still caps?

I don't think we've witnessed an email change along with a case change. Should be interesting

My entire email address changed too because I guess my fall grades got to SLS, but my email is still in caps. Yours changed and yours went lowercase. I suspect you'll get a call on Monday.Vincent wrote:I'm confused because my entire email address got changed - I thought the lower case phenomena was a case change, not a full on text change...ssanonymous wrote:CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Vincent wrote:Before, my primary email and secondary email were the same email, except that my primary email was ALL CAPS.

Here's my positive prediction for all of you waiting out there: over in the In at Stanford Thread, people are pretty underwhelmed and confused by their aid packages this year. The TLS conventional wisdom that Stanford gives higher offers than harvard is definitely not playing out this year, not consistently at least. I think it's going to hurt the yield this year, and there could be a lot of wait list action in comparison to years past.

Unless you changed it to lower-case through LSAC when you applied, yes.kingabraham3 wrote:do people's email addresses always start in caps?yellingllama74 wrote:do people's email addresses always turn lowercase before they get the admit phone call, or is that just sometimes?

what/where is this said "status checker app"?ssanonymous wrote:Can I get this program? Silly question, I know, but I'm just wondering...
If they did it would be funny, because I made a program that checks every five minutes from 10AM-9PMEST to text me if there's a change. So since I went complete the first time (early Nov.) that's about 20,000 times.

Yeah, but some people got into HYS, so I get that finaid packages are a factor. But I think if you're set on H or Y anyway, a little more money from S wouldn't have made a huge difference, so I think yield might be the same.sinfiery wrote:Sorry for you all, but yay. Has anybody been officially given acceptance yet in April, or just some DLSs?

Okay, trying not to lose it here. I've been watching this thread for the past four months. Submitted my application and went complete in December--haven't heard a thing since. BOTH primary and secondary emails went lowercase five minutes ago…
For what it's worth, both my primary and secondary email addresses are the same addresses. In the past, the focus has been on the case change in the primary email address. So if both change, I don't know what to think about it. Any ideas?

Carbon, it makes sense. ASW is coming up, so they're probably trying to make a bunch of decisions this week.

Ohh, that's weird--my secondary has always been lowercase. But I think the primary e-mail changing should be a good sign. Hope this means you'll be getting a call soon!statslaw wrote:Yes, both were in all caps before. Both changed to lower case this morning.
