So what's the consensus on the optional essays? Is it necessary to complete one to show you are actually interested? Does it come off lazy or uninterested if you don't? What do you guys think?

Checking in. Just sent in my app yesterday! I like the graphs posted. Michigan has one of the more interesting spread on its Application Dates graph than any of the other schools I've seen yet.

Just got an email from admissions about our entering class data. I remember anticipating this last year, so I figured I would let you know. Class size: 345, LSAT: 169 (same), GPA: 3.73 (dropped .03). I figured you guys might find this useful (or maybe not...since not much really changed median-wise).

I got the same email acknowledging receipt of my application, and I think it says there that it can take anywhere from about a week (typical) up to six (!) to get the ID and other info. So it looks like we could be in for a wait.

Yeah, I did their ED, and I wish they used Virginia's two-week-guaranteed-response program -- I'll be waiting at least until November, based on what I've seen in LSN.

Kind of my feelings of late. Aside from Berkeley>CCN, Michigan's probably my top choice.

Just got a second packet in the mail from Michigan- the first was the one with the fee waiver letter, this one is a thick one that has "100+" on the front. Lists a lot of cool things about Michigan. Anyone else get this? I've been pretty impressed with this school so far.
