Wow. If I don't hear by the end of the day I'm emailing. If then say no I'm promptly withdrawing. Really should get something from them, they have been giving out so much money compared to other T14's this cycle :?

I got shot down for an increase. Another TLSer who doesn't wanna post (but said I can for him) also got $ yesterday, sent in another much larger T14 offer, and got shot down.

I was so excited about UVA. Unreasonably so, even.

Really lost right now brothers.

Same. Damn I really liked UVA. I guess they have out too much money to the early submitters

That's what really irks me: I was admitted in early November (first person on TLS, probably one of the first few in general) and I'm above both of their medians. Obviously nothing wrong with my application as I've been receiving significant schollies at similar schools. To watch over the course of the next six months, UVA giving out massive schollies left and right, well, there's just something wrong with that.

Probably the wisest choice, that I can see by reading all of this and seriously contemplating my own scenario, is to withdraw this cycle and ED for the 2014 cycle and do the same with the other T14's. At least then we will be in a better position to evaluate the offer UVA gives early on and not have to wait until the last opportunity to squeeze some extra $$ from them. At this point, just withdraw and make a better plan for the upcoming cycle. Besides, w/ UVA's employment stats and incredible alumni strength, the gifts should be even larger this next year, allowing for greater scholarship $.

You mean apply early, not ED, right?

I applied in early November, but they didn't admit me until February. I guess September is even earlier and maybe luck will be on my side. Really not looking forward to the idea. But I can't afford to be totally opposed either.

You're over both medians and got no scholarship? That's weird...

To clarify, I didn't realize I'm actually a bit below the GPA median, and my LSAT is slightly above the 75th. Still...

UVA's median GPA has always caught me off guard.

Yeah, for some reason I thought it was just above a 3.7, not a 3.87.

Regarding the scholarships, I really hope that UVA at least has the courtesy to notify those still waiting that we're not getting anything, and that they do so today, as Dean Richards said they would in her email. Otherwise, this is just bad class all around.

I'll be calling/emailing them this afternoon if I don't hear anything.

Nope and I email again today asking if they had reached a decision. No reply

I called earlier this week so maybe someone else should give it a shot.

I take that back. I just got an email from Richards that I would be getting no financial aide.

Also, I don't know if it only referred to me but it is looking unlikely they have any money left for anyone from my email.

And in the event some people in this thread don't know, scholarships at UVA are true scholarships in that they are funded compared to just the school offering discounted tuition. So when the money is out the money is actually literally out.

They don't have donors?

They do have donors, that's the point. The donors have set aside a set amount of money and once that money is gone there's no more scholarships.

At other schools (private institutions rather than public), the school can just charge reduced tuition and call it a scholarship.

Ah sorry I read his post backwards. Stupid small screen on my Iphone. Still no word from Dean Richards. Will call soon, but I agree with everyone else that it looks like a no go.

I'm going to assume that my lack of notification and lack of reply to my email yesterday concerning aid means no money for me. This sucks. :( Oh well. I guess they made my decision process a lot easier. There's no way I'm paying sticker at a school when I have $$$ waiting for me elsewhere. Disappointing still, though. Good luck to all of those that will be attending UVA in the fall, and congrats!!

For those that withdrew, did any of you receive confirmation of your withdrawal?

Have sent 3 (three, tres, mpu) withdrawal e-mails and have not received any confirmation.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
