I think you're a cool dude Noodley, but I respectfully disagree.NoodleyOne wrote:Come on, that's a little much. They didn't say "By Tuesday". Early in the week is nebulous enough to allow for Wednesday. Really, as long as it's this week I don't think it's a big deal.FlowBro wrote:UVA needs to learn what "early in the week" means...no scholly $$ today was a bush league move on their part
Breakdown of the work week:
Early- Monday/Tuesday
Mid-Wednesday/Thursday AM
Late-Thursday PM/Friday
Wednesday is not early especially when they made it sound as if the decisions were made "late last week" and the notifications were this week.
Having said that, I still like my usage of bush league. Just sayin'

You got into Penn right? Are you basically set on UVA at this point, or are you deciding between certain schools?Jaqen wrote:Yea. When they sent the "early next week" email, I told myself to assume Wednesday-Friday. But I can't help but be disappointed each day all the same. I was admitted back in early Feb., right when they basically quit giving $ with acceptances. ASW, amongst other things, sealed my love of the school and area. But the COA has to be competitive.North wrote:+1JamesDean1955 wrote: I have no faith in law school admissions personnel in general
Not to mention that several deposit deadlines have passed and lots more are creeping up. Freaks me out.

Didn't want to cause a stir earlier, but I'm not a new admit and I already heard back this week (monday) and received an increase on an existing scholarship. So some have already gone out at least.shadowofjazz wrote:I have no problem with people discussing finaid in either thread. The c/o 2016 thread is for people who are attending for sure. People who haven't committed but are trying to negotiate may only be in this thread. It helps everyone who is trying to get money if we discuss it openly in both threads. From what we have seen though, the people actually GETTING freed up money are NEW admits. FWIW.

Re: UVA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
My biggest scholarships were at Michigan and Cornell, but I went to the Michigan ASW and couldn't see myself spending 3 years there. Although I've never been to Ithaca I suspect I wouldn't like it either. I have $$ at Penn and waiting on UVA, so it's definitely between those two. I'm riding all the CCN waitlists but I doubt that any of them would offer me anything close to Penn or UVA in scholarships, so I've pretty much ruled them out.Jaqen wrote:Yeah, I got into Penn w $ and Cornell w 120k. EDIT: Also I hated how UVA and Penn had ASW's at the same time forcing us to choose one over the other. I went with the one that gave me money though. Hoping UVA will give me $$ to give me a reason to visit Charlottesville soon.

Also I think even if we get nothing, they are supposed to tell us. That's how I read their email. Then again, they seem to have different interpretations of the meaning of words and phrases than the general population (it's now midweek UVA).
