Has anyone in the first wave of acceptance heard of anything money-wise? The e-mail we received said that offers would start going out at the end of Feb.

admitted student site says early march.

I emailed Ann Perry a few days ago, and she said they had just started reviewing financial aid info.

Let's not forget that UChicago is where "fun comes to die."

My conception of what is fun is so different than the traditional one of parties, blasting music, intoxication, etc., that Chicago sounds like a lot of fun to me.

Last year I think Paul Campos posted that Chicago was still willing to receive applicantions in July or something. They start a month later than everyone else, so I think that urgency is just not there.

Oh I had to add this gem from the TLS profile:

A friend of mine from NYU’s faculty came to a conference here and participated in a Friday evening session of the conference and it wasn’t like it was a Supreme Court justice, it was a bunch of law professors on a Friday evening, and there were about a hundred and fifty students and he couldn’t believe it. He said this wouldn’t happen at NYU — there are more distractions.

This visiting professor from NYU was literally incredulous at how lame Chicago students are.

How is it lame to take advantage of opportunities to learn?

It was a joke. I was playfully implying that Chicago students might not have as many "fun" options on a Friday night (in reality, I'm sure they do).

TBF, I don't think all the students were hanging around on a Friday evening just for the law professors' scintillating conversation.
