For those of us who have been accepted, aren't we supposed to be receiving an email this month detailing how to apply for merit and need-based aid?

Yeah...it'll be very brief, something to the effect of "I wish to be considered for need and merit aid" or "I only wish to be considered for merit aid"AllDangle wrote:For those of us who have been accepted, aren't we supposed to be receiving an email this month detailing how to apply for merit and need-based aid?

Looking at previous years....February/March, unless you get a Mordecai invite

is there any downside of asking them to consider both? (could them finding no reason to give you need-based $$ lead to lower merit offer) may sound silly, but just something I was thinking about..

Checking in. I went complete on the 27th, still not under review. Should I be worried that I didn't get invited for priority track with a 169 and 171?

They actually recommend you apply for both. They say explicitly on the website that for purposes of need based aid they realize people may have had financial support in undergrad that may not be available to them in LS.jubee wrote:is there any downside of asking them to consider both? Checking in.
Just received an email that I am now on the Priority Reserve list.
Submitted on 11/26 (PT/regular admission)
Complete on 11/26
Given my miserable GPA (170/3.4), I actually feel that I slightly overperformed.
Is there any substantial difference between priority reserve and regular reserve in ultimately being accepted?? Any advice on when to submit LOCI? I'm also seriously thinking of re-taking in February.

Received my admitted student package today. My admit email was on November 14th. This letter was dated November 28th and still says "next few weeks" for the financial aid email to go out.AllDangle wrote:For those of us who have been accepted, aren't we supposed to be receiving an email this month detailing how to apply for merit and need-based aid?

That's good to know. For some reason I was assuming that we weren't officially admitted until we applied for financial aid and thus wouldn't receive a packet until after then. What kind of goodies were in the pack?risa wrote:Received my admitted student package today. My admit email was on November 14th. Typos in my Why Duke essay, then I sent a resubmit and accidentally sent the original essay with the typos and immediately sent another email with the resubmit apologizing for the first e-mail. Not to mention as a 3.61/161 URM I should have used my ED on Duke but I foolishly used it on Columbia. DaRascal's guide for botching any chance, albeit slim, of getting into Duke Law.
