If I missed the call, I'm not supposed to call back, right? I just take the voicemail and listen to it over and over until the effect wears off (never)?law_app_noob wrote:Got the phone call today.

Makes me wonder if it's even worth taking the call... Send it straight to voicemail and you have an anti-depressant plus it may get you tail...Mr. Elshal wrote:If I missed the call, I'm not supposed to call back, right? This is great. I'm gonna try it over the weekend. I'll just walk up to a girl at a bar and say "hey baby, how about you and I go back to my place and listen to a voicemail from Michael Ramos. Yeah, that's right girl, I've been accepted."teiswei wrote:Makes me wonder if it's even worth taking the call... Or I could go with the classic "Is that an acceptance letter in my pocket, or am I just happy to see you...oh yeah, it's an acceptance letter."

I received the call, but missed it. Instead of leaving a voicemail, they just sent an e-mail the next day.teiswei wrote:Makes me wonder if it's even worth taking the call... I'll endorse it as long as there is video evidence... I will even buy your drinks for the night.Mr. Elshal wrote:This is great. I'm gonna try it over the weekend. Does anyone know if NYU helps reimburse the cost of ASW?

Not sure if anyone has posted this update yet, but if not, figured folks would want to know that I was DLS/ASW 12/10 with no phone call and just received my official letter of admission in the mail today, with a nice personalized note from Dean Kleinrock (I believe).
The letter is postmarked 12/12 and I live in Manhattan.

Any news for EDers updated to 12/13? Do we believe that there is another round of acceptances?

Also, if you go to Williamsburg, you absolutely have to try Rosamunde sausage grill

I'd say Patsy's in east harlem. They do slices. Near NYU, I really like Artichoke and Joe's (both do slices). For a nice sit-down place, I'd say Forcella. And I know people will hate me for saying this, but I also eat Famiglia from time to time.Swimp wrote:I know this is a touchy subject, but I think John's of Bleecker is the best pizza in Manhattan. But who has time for pizza when there's Mamouns falafel?

Got my letter in the mail today.
DLS (and able to log in to ASW) on Thursday, Call on Friday, letter in the mail on Saturday. I live in Brooklyn, but I guess this indicates it'll be coming soon for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet.
Teiswei, I'll find a way to get a camera in there. At the very least, you'll probably see security footage on the news of me getting beaten up outside some bar in Manhattan. Keep an eye out
ETA I like your avatar. There should be a zoolander smiley with that face...

Anyone get a personal handwritten note with their letter? The Dean mentioned something from my P.S. that he liked. i thought it was a nice touch

Yeah, he wrote about NYU being my academic home and that I will have great opportunities there. It feels great to have the handwritten note, but NYU is the third school to do that for me, so I'm starting to think it may be standard (gotta feel bad for the adcomms at Harvard sending out 850 packets)shakespeare wrote:Anyone get a personal handwritten note with their letter? Also, on a bit of a tangent, did anyone else notice the insane amount of violet on this thing? They are seriously working on this branding lol.
To everyone still waiting, I'm rooting for all of you and, hopefully, we can all party in NYC next year!

Mine referenced my Furman Scholarship app, which is a nice way to get my hopes up for something I have zero chance of getting. It was still an awesome touch though and something I'll remember about them.shakespeare wrote:Anyone get a personal handwritten note with their letter? I loved the violet envelope! My letter talked about the unique view I'll bring to NYU from southern West Virginia and how great of a fit NYU would be for my interests. I love the handwritten notes I get from schools because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

My status changed yesterday and I was able to log in to the admitted website but no phone call. Is that bad? How long did most people have to wait between being able to log in and getting called/the packet?

My status changed Monday and I was able to log in to the admitted student website either late that evening or the next morning. I then received a call Tuesday evening. My packet arrived today (Saturday).lawschoolboundfuture wrote:My status changed yesterday and I was able to log in to the admitted website but no phone call. Is that bad? Pretty sure that if you can get into the admitted students website you're fine.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
