Am I reading the email right that the deadline is for need-based scholarships/grants/loans only and that Merit-based scholarships do not require FAFSA?

Or an e-mail saying "Oh hey, that other e-mail will actually be relevant because, you know, we decided to make a decision on your app after four months."oaken wrote:Maybe they should send out another email to clarifyshntn wrote:I was so mad that they sent that, I didn't even read the thing yet.sideoffries wrote:Am I reading the email right that the deadline is for need-based scholarships/grants/loans only and that Merit-based scholarships do not require FAFSA?

According to past years, compared to other schools berkeley gets out most of their decisions in February. The wait won't be that much longer guys! (in contrast to like april for damn USC)

I heard late February.. so, we should not expect much movement here in January.mcs268 wrote:According to past years, compared to other schools berkeley gets out most of their decisions in February. The wait won't be that much longer guys! (in contrast to like april for damn USC)

Yeah I'm confused because I could've sworn their ASW site said something different. So matching scholarships, no FAFSA. But for loans, FAFSA.

It said in the email that all applicants received the email. I am still waiting to hear (applied in early December, haven't heard anything yet), and I got that email this morning, too.az21833 wrote:Received a financial aid email without an application received email? From the ASW:
How do I apply for a Matching Scholarship?
Newly admitted students who wish to apply for the Matching Scholarship must complete the Matching Scholarship Application Form through the Admitted Students website. This section is restricted to admitted students and requires CalNet authentication. We strongly suggest that you also apply for general financial aid by completing the FAFSA and the Scholarship Interest Form.

ok now i got a status checker and it says "we have received your application". next to initial LSDAS report as well as everything else it has a check. Does this mean I am complete? Or do they send out a seperate "application complete" email?

Dude. Just sit back, crack open a brewdog, and relax. All schools do things differently, have different statuses, etc.az21833 wrote:ok now i got a status checker and it says "we have received your application". next to initial LSDAS report as well as everything else it has a check. At some point point you will either be admitted or you will not. Try not to obsess over every little thing in the meantime.

Mine took roughly 3 weeks. UR Dec. 17 with a decision on Jan. 3. I'm not sure this info is very helpful looking forward though.wert3813 wrote:Anyone wanna share how long between under review and and a decision? LSN seems to show 1 month ish?
