I got a call yesterday about setting up a SCALE interview. I would prefer to do the traditional 3 year program though, if I turn down the interview would it lessen my chances of getting into Southwestern?

Nothing wrong with telling them you are not interested in SCALE. It will not affect your chances. I don't recommend SCALE for anyone except people in the 40s who whatever reason need to get through law school as quickly as possible.

Anyways I think your recommendation is full of misinformation. The average age of a scale student is 28.

To OP: I attended the SCALE interview on April 11th and originally put the traditional program as my first choice and SCALE as my second choice. The program is not intended for everyone and students from a quarter system might be more accustomed to the intense study due to shortened length of classes. The bar passage rate is slightly higher than the traditional program. SCALE students can still participate in moot court, trial advocacy, and a few other programs that are in the traditional program. You do have the benefit of saving a year of living expenses upon graduation. There is a video you can view on Southwestern's website to learn more if you do not want to spend a day on the campus. Good luck with your decision.

As a student who attended Southwestern and transferred the fuck out, I think I am more qualified to render an opinion about this program. I was also admitted to SCALE before I realized what a SCAM it is.

SCALE is not a scam...other schools including Northwestern are beginning to include a two year option. About the only thing that makes you qualified for an opinion here is your forum posts which in my eyes only means you spend WAY too much time on the internet rather than focusing on real family and career goals. You sir/ma'am have too much time on your hands. Alas this will be my last post regarding this topic. Make some friends off the internet.

So there are no advantages but only the disadvantage so it is just if you enroll you will waste a lot of money, time and effort. Not good!!!
