Anyone else still waiting for a response from Samford?

Anyone get in and want to share their scholarship numbers?

I'm in. My understanding is that few, if any, admitted individuals can share their scholarship numbers right now. For me, at least, I have been told I will not hear back until later in March and to even get to that point I had to attend a scholarship interview day that was mostly a sales pitch, but with a personal interview mixed in.

I will say that after actually visiting Samford Law (I got the feeling they really prefer the Cumberland brand actually, and who can blame them?) the school moved up a lot on my list. It's got a small atmosphere that feels like it would be tight-knit, and the overall campus is beautiful (though not breathtaking or anything) and in one of Alabama's best areas for work AND play.

I have read and heard they place decently in their region of Alabama (competing with UA's grads however) and maybe a select few can go to bigger markets, namely Atlanta.

The law school's facilities were less impressive, but the library was a nice three-story open area. It looks like Samford provides everything you would need to be successful.

All considered, I could definitely see myself at Samford, but not without some serious scholarship money. It's just too small and regional to pay such a high sticker. At this point I think that if for some reason I decide to bite the bullet and go to an extremely expensive school, it might as well be Miami, as it is much higher ranked and in my home state (the latter being more important).

I have my SCI interview for a scholarship this Thursday. I'm hoping to get more than St. Louis gave me.......they offered me half tuition.

Good luck. There's really nothing to it other than a personal interview with an alum and a faculty member.

Has anyone been taken off the waitlist yet?

I've been on the waitlist since 5/30 and haven't been informed of a final decision yet. I expect to hear something in July. I sent a LOCI and requested via e-mail (last Thursday) to schedule a tour/meeting with an admissions officer and have yet to receive a reply about that.

I'm sure they are. The e-mail I received from them on 5/30 said that decisions will be made up until early August.

I had a professor at NYU undergrad who was a proud Cumberland grad. Tried pushing it on me, actually. Had nothing but good things to say.

I am starting to worry it's getting too late for the Waitlist

I don't think it's too late. I just think they're waiting to see how many people are going to withdraw. They may not make offers until August.

Anyone on the waitlist heard anything final from Admissions yet? Also, does anyone know about scholarship $$ for applicants admitted off the waitlist?

Would you mind sharing your numbers and when you submitted your application? Also, did you have any contact with the admissions office while you were waiting? Did they offer you any scholarship money? Thanks!
