This is just weird. Not to knock myself as a candidate, but my numbers were not as stellar as Luxxe or Jam's and I got in off the WL.

Just now? Email or phone call? Did you get the call yesterday?catholicgirl wrote:This is just weird. Not to knock myself as a candidate, but my numbers were not as stellar as Luxxe or Jam's and I got in off the WL.

Re: Waitlisted at Chicago (2012)
I got in two weeks ago now. Deposited and told my southern gentleman that he wasn't as good as the city boy that treated me poorly. I only got an email. Am still half convinced it's a fluke, but on status checker it says I'm in....so...here's to hoping my nightmare won't come true.Greenandgold wrote:Just now? Email or phone call? ETA: never got a phone call informing me I was up for consideration. Also stats are good but not great. 165/3.9ish. Am thinking LORs may have factored in heavily for me? Has to be something unrelated to my LSAT.

They must be struggling to keep either of their medians.

Yea, us three that got a call yesterday are all splitters, but sn20's call throws a wrench into the idea that they're trying to only boost their LSAT median.redbullvodka wrote:They must be struggling to keep either of their medians.
Anyone have any idea when they think those of us that got a call should hear back?

She told me that the committee would be reviewing them very very soon, the vibe I got from that was before the end of the week, so I imagine we could know as soon as Monday or so. I think foxy said within a week too. I wonder how many spots they have open and what they are looking for because my GPA is low compared to your guys' and I can't help but feel discouraged now haha

Congrats to all the new admits! I was in your place a year ago (actually more like 10 months ago), and I can say I am completely certain that I made the right decision by coming to UChicago despite the inconvenience of changing plans so late in the game.
Good luck to those of you still waiting. Remember, in years past UChicago has used the WL late into the summer, so don't lose hope!

In!
Boldly told the dean on the phone yesterday that more scholarship money is what would get me to withdraw from Columbia. Didn't expect to get in after that. Now let's see what the offer is.

Re: Waitlisted at Chicago (2012)
This may be a stupid question, but how can I withdraw from another school I already sent in deposit? Can I simply email to the admissions office? Please don't say I can't attend Chicago because I submitted deposit to another school

Email admissions. You're probably not getting your deposit back. I withdrew from Cornell a week before classes started and even after my loans were disbursed.nanurusa wrote:This may be a stupid question, but how can I withdraw from another school I already sent in deposit? Thank you!! I just emailed U of C admissions to ask the same question, but I'll email NYU admissions now to withdraw! Happy to know I can attend U of C!!!Bildungsroman wrote: Email admissions. 99% sure. They basically matched my NYU offer so it's just a choice between the two and I liked Chicago quite a bit when I visited. For some illogical reason I feel really bad withdrawing from NYU, having come so close to attending.zapcaz wrote:Do you think you will accept the offer?Greenandgold wrote:Just got my scholarship offer

It's okay. I felt like some terrible, two-timing skank when I turned down UVA. You'll get over it.Greenandgold wrote:99% sure. Re: Waitlisted at Chicago (2012)
hey all!
i just got into HLS today off the waitlist, and will be jumping ship from chicago to go there. i had accepted a seat with a $90,000 scholarship, so hoping that seat (and money) goes to good use for one of you! best of luck everyone!
