Top Law Schools

You know you're a law school applicant when...

1. Every time you get an email you hope and pray its from a law school (but its usually not).
2. You check the online status checker for each school at least twice a day.
3. You constantly look at the Top Law Schools forums.
4. ..and then worry about your own chances based on people's responses.
5. You look at Law School Numbers and marvel at people's success during their application process.
6. ...and hope you will have the same result.
7. You question if you will make it into your dream school about every few hours.
8. You read about horror stories of people in law school and are either scared to death or know it won't happen to you (but it probably will).
9. You check your phone every hour to see if a law school called.
10. You email/call your prospective schools and bug them about everything question that pops into your head.
11. You scream/cry every time you get accepted (no matter the school, no matter its rank).
12. Your heart jumps when you see your status date change on your school's status checker.
13. You get law school junk mail/email everyday.
14. You wish time would fast forward to April when you will have all your decisions.
15. You set up dates to miss class and visit law schools instead.
17. You talk to current law students and wonder how they do it.
18. People ask you "What kind of lawyer do you want to be?"
19. And also ask "When I get in trouble, you're gonna help me, right?"
20. You agree with the things stated above.

I'd edit number 1 to say, and it usually is, but it's never from a school you actually applied to.

When you submit an application to a law school. I think that's a pretty obvious one missing from your list.

23. your self worth is directly correlated with the number/rank of schools you are accepted/offered schollys to...even though you've already been accepted with a scholly to your number one choice.

You relentlessly apartment-hunt online in each of the cities you might be attending law school in, despite the fact that you haven't even heard back from half the places you've applied, and you don't know for sure which school you're even attending.

You also imagine scenarios in which your future law school professors despise you from day one and decide to give you terrible grades.

Why is the waiting game so torturous?

I'm glad I'm not the only one then! I've dedicated a ridiculous amount of time to it so far - instead of having a nervous habit like biting my nails, I apartment hunt.
