Good Luck! I'm just waiting for one more reference letter to be submitted so I can apply.

I'll join in here. Applied a while ago, it's been sitting under "Application complete - Thank you" since 12/7. Good luck!

Thanks. Apparently my "Decision Rendered" was premature. It was an error and they meant to make me In Review.

I've had so many "Just Kidding!" mistakes this cycle...

Still "application complete - thank you" from 12/7
I'm an out of state splitter, so they may take their sweet time with my app. 164/2.3

I hope not. I was waitlisted last year and the wait almost killed me. I applied 12/9/10 and didn't get my final thanks but no thanks until 8/10/11. It was the longest 8 months of my life. 157/3.5.

I'm an out of state reverse splitter -- 154/3.77 -- just happy to be in.

Glad all of you want to join the party! For the poster who was on the WL for 8 months, you were lucky. UNM generally accepts 1-2 from the WL if that. Anyways, good luck to you all. Let me know if you have any ???s

Thanks. What year are you in? Preparation advice? Things you wish you had done differently?

SweetI In-state or out of state? I get the feeling they're making us out of staters wait a little longer.

In-State. This was my second go around. Last year I was waitlisted.

Greetings and congrats. This forum was a great resource waiting/choosing/preparing last year. I am 1L at UNM, and have lived in Abq for the last 10 years. Feel free to ask any questions....

CONGRATULATIONS! I see from your profile that you have applied to a few other schools. Where are you leaning? Are you from NM?

No. Have you tried calling admissions to see if they will tell you anything?

3L. Have as much fun as possible this summer and get ready to work your arse off this fall. Nothing will prepare you for law school (I tried just about everything), but I think the LEEWS system is best if you must do something. You can read Turow's One L and Law School Confidential (which has a few useful tips) for S(hit)s & G(iggles)s.

There is also a long post somewhere on here from a former NYU 1L about studying effectively and doing well with minimal effort that is pretty solid.

Not to sound like a douche, but I did pretty well and don't have regrets. From speaking with my classmates, many people wish that they wouldn't have taken the advice to skip readings, rely too heavily on hornbooks, or not brief cases - brief everything 1L year, after that you'll know how to prepare for class and for law school finals.

Sorry I was slow to respond. Feel free to ask me any other questions. I suspect I'll be on here more regularly. 3L year is as boring as everyone claims it to be.

Don't get discouraged. UNM's admission process is notoriously slow. Honestly, you probably weren't at the tippy top for their numbers, so it'll take a while to hear from them. That being said, you can be admitted late in the game, do well, and land some scholly $$$.

edit: just saw that you're a non-res splitter. it's going to be an uphill battle for you IMO.

Yes - I agree. That LSAT score is strong, though - don't give up hope.

Just got the update on status checker that a decision has been rendered. Now I have to wait for the official email I guess. Does it usually take until the next day like the status checker indicates?
