Anyone sending out LOCI... Even without a waitlist!?
I have some letters of continued interest I am ready to send out.
I did not get rejected anywhere but it has been a while since I heard anything.
I got into a t-6 and a t-14 but everyone else has been silent and I applied in October. (URM/Splitter)
Advice needed.

Its so tempting to try to do damage control and avoid the waitlist in the first place though.
White knuckling it, for now.

Re: Anyone sending out LOCI... Even without a waitlist!?
Sent an email to Vandy, two short paragraphs about how I know that I will return to Nashville (hometown) and I want at least the chance to be part of the Vandy community. I think I was headed to the waitlist, since my stats are high enough for T10 acceptances. But that's a special situation- my parents, my 94 year old grandmother, and my near certainty that Nashville is where I'll practice. Wouldn't recommend unless you have a STRONG reason for a school that wasn't very clear in your Why X. But don't lie- I was clear that financial aid makes a BIG part of my decision, and attendance is contingent on that. To not admit that comes off as disingenuous.
For what its worth, my decision was mailed two days later (acceptance)

Re: Anyone sending out LOCI... Even without a waitlist!?
I sent an email to a safety school when my app had been complete about 9 days longer than the website says it should take. I got a reply from someone at admissions the same day that said their committee doesn't meet in December because of finals and grading, and that my app woulnd be reviewed in mid-January. I hope that it helped to show that I actually want to go to this school. I did mention finances as well. I haven't been accepted yet, but I'm shooting for one of their top scholarships.

Do you guys send in LOCIs in the e-mail itself or as an attachment?

I'm going to do both. One e-mail, two letters.
E-mail telling about how its my first choice.
First letter reiterating it is my first choice and pointing out that my LSDAS GPA has jumped up and I have had some professional success.
Second letter reiterating that it is my first choice, note some new professional successes, and then reiterate that it is my first choice again.
All for my first choice, obviously.
For other LOCI campaigns, I'll do the same minus the first choice part. I'm only going to do three real LOCI campaigns. If I don't get in, I'll work for two years, re-take, and apply to Northwestern with a better application and hopefully a great shot at biglaw instead of just a mildly ok one.

Re: Anyone sending out LOCI... Even without a waitlist!?
I'm a splitter and doing everything I can to stand out..
Submitted apps in early/mid november and sent an LOCI to all of my top choices updating them on my fall semester gpa and senior research project.
I just emailed it as an attachment and a couple of schools have replied back that they added it to my file.
I'd say if you have things to update the schools on might as well send in an LOCI in the process.

Fedexed a signed letter to a certain school but I still seem to be in the waitlist/rejection pile. Personally I don't see how it could hurt, though.
