Seems like Pepperdine is still responding to initial decisions.

Re: Pepperdine 2015
Just spoke with admissions, they said 2-3 weeks until their next round of decisions.
Was disappointed as I applied in early February.

I got this too and was pretty confusedbajafresk wrote:Sooo i just got an update on my status checker. At the top of the page it says this:
"Your application for admission to Pepperdine Law is now complete. This means that we have all of the documents we need and that your file is in the review process. The typical time frame to receive a decision is approximately 8 weeks after the date your application becomes complete. That date is listed below. Because it is peak processing time, applicants are sometimes experiencing longer wait times for a decision.
The next step will be for your status to change to "Decision Rendered." A letter will be mailed to you within 1 - 2 business days of your status changing to "Decision Rendered." Please note that decisions are sent via U.S. mail only. If you have further questions regarding the status of your application, please contact the Office of Admissions."
This is confusing because I have been complete since 3/2/2012 and that date has not changed. Why all of a sudden would they update me with this information? This wasn't there before. Did anyone else get this update? It's been exactly 8 weeks since i've been complete too..

Decision rendered. Judging from the thread it seems like the mail should come sometime next week.

Re: Pepperdine 2015
Hey Everyone! I have been put on the terrible waiting list. 159 LSAT and 3.62 LSDAS GPA. I still hope to attend. I have tried calling the school and they say after the July 1st seat deposit deadline, they will have a better idea of how many wait-listers will make it in! Good luck!

Thank you for clarifying! I was somewhat under this misconception.melanne89 wrote:bajafresk wrote:ha! i'm an atheist too, it's gonna be hard to not open my mouth during lecture if a professor starts to preach to the class.. that is, if i get in. congrats!darkatillam2 wrote:Went DR today after applying early Jan.
Got the email a couple hours later... I'm in.
Not sure what to do now. It's Pepperdine or USD both at sticker. What do I do...
Oh ya, I'm an atheist. Might be relevant
I know you're being facetious, but just to clarify, there is no preaching or anything of the sort in class. That is a misconception that unfortunately hurts Pepperdine's reputation. While it is a school founded on the principles of Christianity, the faith does not leak into the heart of the legal education.

While there is no religious preaching, the principles of faith do leak into the legal education. Pepperdine is an extremely conservative school and is mostly taught by conservative professors. While Christian =/= conservative, the school does live up to the stereotype of a conservative Christianity. If you're liberal or atheist, being too outspoken will surely have some effect on your professors.GueritaPeloChino wrote:Thank you for clarifying! I'm assuming that there has been little to no movement on the WL all summer.
Has anyone heard anything as of the last week?

Spoke with admissions, they don't seem to anticipate taking anyone off the waitlist this year

Am I the only one who finds this to be a bit odd?lwscap wrote:Spoke with admissions, they don't seem to anticipate taking anyone off the waitlist this year
Especially given the active movement at other CA, and specifically LA, schools..
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
