Yeah, Buffalo was my 3rd choice, Suffolk 1st, then Albany 2nd. I grew up between Buffalo and Rochester and lived in Rochester for 5 years after undergrad...became very bored out that way and moved to Boston almost 2 years ago. So employment opportunities aside, Buffalo isn't somewhere I'd like to end up working and living after school. Add in Hofstra and Buffalo bumps down to 4th choice, but I'm waitlisted at Hofstra.paradox wrote:IMO your employment prospects will be much- much better at Hofstra than Buffalo.

Were you accepted via status checker or snail mail?
Also, I don't think employment prospects are better at Hofstra. I visited the law school and liked it but I learned that the school (like many law schools are allegedly doing) hire grads so their employment stats look higher.

Status checker says my application is under review. I applied January 4th and received the email that everything was complete on January 10th.

Does Hofstra have in-state tuition?

No. Unfortunately, they're a private university.LawStudent89 wrote:Does Hofstra have in-state tuition?

Applied last month and finally went UR, so I guess I'll hear back soon. Not crazy about WNY, but I would've been remiss to not apply - I had a fee waiver and I'm a NY National Guard soldier who drills in the area.

Go to Hofstra unless you want to be personal injury lawyer in Buffalo or Rochester. School is total TTT. Top students transfer out because they realize by end of first year that they won't be able to get jobs. Course selection is limited. Lots of Anthropology & the Law types of classes, which sound interesting, but won't help you get jobs.
Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Application still under review since 1-20. These schools move slow! My Albany application is still just "complete". I'm about 98% sure I'm going to Suffolk anyway, not sure I want to leave Boston for Buffalo.
