Clearly on would have to be near the top of their class to be considered by one of these firms, but do they even recruit at LUC? I'm not interested in doing health law and would like to focus more on the business side of things - not tax though. With undergrad internship experience at a top 50 law firm, I realize the different values of law degrees from schools of different rankings and would like to find out if such opportunities are possible with a LUC degree. Or would it be more beneficial to take a year off and work on gaining admission to a higher ranked law school? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Loyola is very special in it's ties to the community. It seems to me that Loyola alums are willing to help other Loyola alums over NU or UC people. Many Loyola grads are in very powerful positions in the city.

Anyone meet with admissions counselors yet? I am visiting tomorrow and I would like to set up an appointment with a counselor. Any experience? How did it go/what did you ask? Do you feel it made a difference?
I should probably also mention that I'm waitlisted.

I'll be flying into Chicago tomorrow for the ASW on Saturday! I'm really excited for it. If anyone wants to get together for a drink tomorrow evening shoot me a P.M!

I'm down to hang out in chi-town tomorrow night. If you're up for a night on the town hit me up. I am a 31 year old male air force catholic who likes sports and bourbon. haha that is your disclaimer. I just got back from south bend for Notre dames tour. It is my first time in Chicago. Love it!!!

I visited back in November but forgot to take pictures! I wish Loyola had more on the website and/or a virtual tour available. If anyone happens to take pictures at the event tomorrow would you mind posting them or PM-ing them to me? Thanks! Wish I could be there for it!!

I visited today and went to an info session and while I didn't get pictures, the school is beautiful. The school has been recently renovated, the classrooms are modern and comfortable and the court room they have is outstanding. I really cannot say enough good things about my visit.
Hope you all enjoy the ASW! I'm very much hoping to get off the waitlist--Loyola is my first choice!

I also went today and took several pictures with my iPhone. Once I get back to Cali I will upload. Someone might have to show me how to post them on here though. The facilities were very nice. I actually walked over to the waterfront to see northwestern, which is also very nice. I feel that facilitywise loyola is at the top. Too bad they don't have a gym.

Any luck?
Sadly, no. They shot me down.
I tried to leverage my offer from DePaul.
I also tried using my DePaul offer for leverage a few weeks ago...didn't work
Yeah, I tried both my DePaul and Kent offers (both higher) and they just shot me down. Gave a bunch of BS reasons why those offers didn't matter, etc. (i.e. They bragged that their tuition had only risen 5% in the last 5 years which meant nothing since DePaul offers a guaranteed 3 year rate, and "warned" that the other schools place unreasonable stipulations on scholarships, which was just a blatant lie since Kent doesn't have ANY stips). Really turned me off from Loyola

Visited Saturday, loved the school. Brand new, the renovations were lovely and the class rooms were well set up for technology. Outlets for everyone! Also Chicago was a great city (I think whenever I need motivation to succeed I will just go stare into the window of the Bentley dealership next door.) I was a tad disappointed by the admitted student day however. I flew 2000 miles and I could have spent my time that morning enjoying Chicago's other attractions, not having people reiterate what anyone at this point in their search for a law school should know, I also felt that the mock class was a total waste of time. The student panel was nice as was realizing that the current students seem to have the same mindset I do. Overall it didn't really sway my decision much, will be attending in the fall but that was my plan before seeing the school.
Anyone have any thoughts about living in the dorm across the street? I looked at the book on the rooms and they seem adequate and the location can’t be beat. Being from out of state I figure it might be a good choice for my first 9 months in Chicago.

Me too (Man that is a scary number) Do you know anything about meal plans there? I thought it might be less expensive than cooking for myself but I wasn't sure if I am eligible as a Law student. Also what option did you pick (I went with A, I hate sharing a bathroom)

I don't know about the meal plan..... You're right about the cost, but I feel like the location for first year hell is perfect lol. I went with the option of only two bedrooms. I hate sharing a bathroom as well, then again doesn't everyone?

Makes me wish that they offered solutions for married students (with pets)!

My greatest fear is that from August to May I might never leave those two buildings. Pets huh? I let my brother have my dog, I figure I probably won't have time to give him the attention he needs while I am in LS.

I'll most likely be attending and I signed up for the two bedroom option. Really looking forward to this fall! Location seems perfect especially for someone like me coming from out of state. I want to know about the meal plans as well, I thought it said Baumhart didn't have a meal plan but I'm not sure.
