Complete on 10/26. I'm hoping for a quick turn around, since LSN shows that they release decisions early and often! Good luck all!

Went "In Review" today! I see last year a few decisions were made in late November, all acceptances...let's hope I'm in that group!

I went "Complete" today 11/10 - applied 11/7, does that mean a decision has already been made or just that my application is complete?

looking at law school numbers it looks like they started sending acceptances the last week of November...fingers crossed we all get one more thing to be thankful for on turkey day!!!

I don't know, but I've been "In Review" for 2 weeks, so I am hoping so!

1L (day division) here. Reading period has just started, so feel free to ask questions and I'll try my best to answer with my limited knowledge.

Me too!

I'm also a 1L willing to answer questions.

I know as 1L's it may be difficult to answer this question, but I was wondering what type of insight you could provide with regards to McGeorge's OCI (if there is one) and the hiring climate in general?

Disclaimer: Take this with a grain of salt since as a 1L I don't know too much about OCI and a lot of my upperclassmen friends are out of town.

McGeorge does have OCI and your best chances to get a decent amount of interviews is to be around the top 20%. I know a few friends that had at least 7+ interviews from OCI, but I never followed up from there.

As for the hiring climate, McGeorge's CDO (career development office) acknowledges that it's difficult to find a job. If you want big law, McGeorge is not for you. With that said, McGeorge dominates Sacramento due to a lot of the UCD kids trying to get into the Bay Area market. CDO has emphasized networking with us 1L's, and have hosted a few events to help us be marketable. Personally, it's somewhat helped me as I have been e-mailing a few attorneys back and forth; though not as much with reading period and midterms approaching.

I think roughly one in three people graduating from McGeorge don't even get a job that requires bar passage (i.e. probably not good to go to McGeorge if you're planning on working as an attorney; good chance that won't happen), and the clear majority don't have any kind of employment lined up by the time of graduation.

so......

good luck with that?

Not doubting your statistics, or looking to get banned by calling out a mod  ...but I'm looking forward to the possibility of going to McGeorge and would prefer to keep this thread positive for those that have applied...which is why I am editing out my above inquiry regarding living possibilities and redirecting in a more appropriate thread.

"Starting or perpetuating arguments here about whether a school is worth attending may be deemed trolling and get you banned.", right?

I was giving statistics in response to an inquiry, which I guess is a decent argument by itself in whether to go or not. That rule is used mostly to crack down on especially egregious cases (for example, somebody being very personally insulting or making multiple posts in a thread in an attempt to derail it), and was also made with a fair amount of discretion in mind. That being said, I thought that this thread was in another subforum when I clicked and responded to it, so I guess that's my bad. It seems like I've spent too much time today seeing pictures of protestors complaining about how they're neck-deep in student debt, can't get a job to pay it off, and that's the government's fault. But anyway, yes, back on track. Sorry for the diversion.

anyone heard anything? They are at least a week behind last year...based on last years numbers Pacific made decisions at least a month before the other schools I have applied to so I am really counting on them to give me my firts acceptance so its killing me that there has been no activity

Its true that last year decisions came out the last week of November, but in the two years prior the first decisions weren't released until the end of the first week in December. Based on the typical response time, I'd guess we'll start hearing at the end of next week.

I do hope you guys have better luck than I did last year. Applied in September and didn't get in until March-April.

Ok...since it's Wednesday afternoon and I had suggested that Pacific would probably begin giving decisions toward the end of this week...I think it's about time for decisions to start coming out...I mean, I've been "In Review" for a month!

Actually, McGeorge is pretty good about sending decision letters out early. I stand by my estimation last week that decision letters should start to come out by the end of this week.
