Pretty much had this same dream last night. Woke up and voraciously opened all my status checkers. Passed back out when nothing had changed.JGK wrote:I'm starting to have dreams where I'm opening the letter and waking up before I see their decision. I may be thinking about this too much.
Does anyone know how Cardozo lets the applicants know their decision?
Acceptance by phonecall/regular mail
Waitlist by Email
Rejection by... email or regular mail? I feel like making me wait for a letter that tells me I got rejected is an overly cruel way of notifying me.
Congrats! That's awesome news! Are you willing to share your stats with us?JGK wrote:I got an email today saying that I was accepted with a scholarship. I need to maintain a 2.95 (top 80%) which seems very reasonable. The email said they tried to contact me but couldn't reach me and that I should be receiving a package in the mail soon. The email had an attachment with two letters, one for the acceptance and one for the scholarship.
Good luck to everyone!
Send the admissions office an email with your polished PS attached and tell them you wanted to include some updatessfamor wrote:Ugh so effing mad at myself- I was hurrying to get in my app and realized after the fact that I hadn't attached my most updated personal statement. No typos or anything like that, but just less polished. I'm really interested in Cardozo and need scholarships so hope I haven't blown it. Lesson learned!
Agree. Did that with the first 5 schools I applied to.InGoodFaith wrote:Send the admissions office an email with your polished PS attached and tell them you wanted to include some updatessfamor wrote:Ugh so effing mad at myself- I was hurrying to get in my app and realized after the fact that I hadn't attached my most updated personal statement. What impressed you about it so much? I'm pretty intrigued by Cardozo and would love to hear a third-party perspective on it.KibblesnBitts wrote:Cardozo, didn't think about applying here until I visited the school and loved it.
It just seems to be a very genuine school. I toured NYLS, Cardozo, and Fordham in one day and Cardozo is the only one I decided to apply to. The students just didn't seem to care at NYLS, it felt like a high class boarding school or a very small undergraduate institution. The library was also unimpressive. Fordham, the students seemed to be very cutthroat and intense.hadisious wrote:What impressed you about it so much? Thanks! That definitely sounds like a great place. I hope I get the opportunity to visit should I get accepted.KibblesnBitts wrote:It just seems to be a very genuine school. The students at Cardozo seemed to be more relaxed, and the studying that was going on seemed to be somewhat intensive, yet calm at the same time. Though I don't follow Judaism (despite being born to a Jewish family), I like how the library follows the Jewish calendar - closed on Saturdays (the sabbath). It forces students to take a night off from studying intensively and just mellow out. It's basically the law school telling you to go out at least one night per week and enjoy yourself.
As someone who goes to a state school, which spans across 7 towns and 5 different campuses, I like how the law school is constricted to one building like the other New York schools. Its location is also great. The facilities and moot court look great - all the classrooms are above ground, and it just seems like a well-formed school. Needless to say, I was impressed and would consider attending if I get accepted....with a bit of a scholarship.
I am SO glad Gmail managed to not tag it as important.doceydoe wrote:Just got an email from Dozo for an open house invite or something....Dozo, you are such a TEASE.

Looking at the forums from last year, it seems that people who got accepted received phone calls early in January right after New Years.hob12 wrote:Anyone know how long it took them last year to start sending out replies in January?
Yeah it was like January 4th last year. It makes me nervous...Kess wrote:Looking at the forums from last year, it seems that people who got accepted received phone calls early in January right after New Years.hob12 wrote:Anyone know how long it took them last year to start sending out replies in January?
