Ya. It was an official email. It extended my deadline to 4/7.

Ugh... I am guessing that means if my decision was finalized but I did not receive an email then that impending letter is going to be a denial. I'm sure they don't intend it to be but isn't it kind of cruel of them to draw it out like this, giving people hope for months, only to have those hopes dashed at the end? My application went complete at the beginning of January, almost four months ago!

I don't think we can draw any definitive conclusions yet. Some people from this thread were admitted by us mail, some by email, and some by phone. Officially the school only notifies applicants by mail. Perhaps they call or email a few people that they are particularly interested in. That's what I gather from reading people's posts.

Decision finalized. If I were them, at this stage, I would email admitted students right away, so I'm assuming it's a rejection.

(No letter through yesterday, but I'm not that close to CA).

International. 169/ no LSDAS GPA, but solid academic record. Very strong softs.

I've been pending since around December. Don't really know what to think at this point. Just kind of assume its a ding at this point.

so i got dinged via snail mail on saturday (wasnt really surprised)....but what was interesting is that they specifically asked me to reapply as a transfer next year...did anyone else get this or was this just a noble attempt to console me?
