I don't know when I went complete because I missed that update, but my guess is 10/19 (also when I applied). I'm in-state, 167/3.1. I think I went in review as soon as they received my residency form because I sent that out a few days past 10/20 and then 10/27 I was in review.kickthebcket wrote:Yea, when did you apply? What is a typical day like for you?ach24 wrote:I'm a UMD 1L. If you all have any questions about the school, feel free to ask!
Last year, I applied around Thanksgiving, but didn't hear back until January. UMD usually doesn't release decisions until January rolls around.

I felt very stupid this morning when I got an email from them saying I submitted a blank residency form.fltanglab wrote:I don't know when I went complete because I missed that update, but my guess is 10/19 (also when I applied). Re: Maryland Applicants c/o 2015
I was a little concerned due to having a family including a 2 year old son to worry about. There are lots of stories about crime in that city so I wasn't sure. Now I realize that just because the school isn't in the best of areas does not mean we have to live there. I would commute if the situation was right and I went there.stephinmd wrote:Why so?lrslayer wrote:hi all, just submitted. i was on the fence about baltimore for a while but have decided to give it a go.

Didn't know it was THAT bad... Wow.ach24 wrote:I have a 5 year old, so I understand the concerns. I don't live in Baltimore; I actually live out in the burbs. The public school system stinks in Baltimore, which is something you'll have to think about once Pre-K rolls around. The schools in the suburbs in central Balto. Co. are great. You may want to consider living in Howard County. You'll be close enough to Baltimore for your school, and you'll also be in one of the best school systems in the state.lrslayer wrote:I was a little concerned due to having a family including a 2 year old son to worry about. We do have crime on campus. We had a shooting a couple of weeks ago in a parking garage. We also had two attempted thefts last week -- someone on a bike tried to steal cell phones in separate incidents. That said, UM's campus is the safest part of Baltimore. As a small girl, I've never felt threatened while in the confines of campus. However, I will say you have to be smart about walking about in the city -- go with a friend, watch where you are going, don't carry your cell phone openly, etc.

thats for the tip on schools. that is probably my biggest concern right now. i would rather move to the right area in the first place as opposed to moving between 2/3Lach24 wrote:I have a 5 year old, so I understand the concerns.
