I believe the Dean said they are sending a wave of ACCEPTANCES this week. I don't think they send out R's and WL's until March. At least that's what LSN shows for the past couple of years.Ga0-3L wrote:I think they send both good news and bad news and purgatory news (waitlist) all at the same time in waves. Someone posted a letter from Dean of Admissions saying that this week, midweek, would be the next wave. I'm a pessimist, and part of me just wants to get ax'ed so I can move on.
Hopefully I'll have something waiting for me when I get home - this is my last school that I am seriously waiting to hear back from before making my final decision on schools.

That's what I understood from his message as well. March, then... hope my sanity makes it through March. Thanks for that.Robespierre wrote:I believe the Dean said they are sending a wave of ACCEPTANCES this week. I don't think they send out R's and WL's until March. Is that right? That's painful then... I wonder why they would hold back rejections and waitlists if they make their judgments on a rolling basis?Robespierre wrote:I believe the Dean said they are sending a wave of ACCEPTANCES this week. In other news: Just opened my mailbox to one of those unmistakable large envelopes. I nearly had a heart attack. Another school would like me to know that they have received my application. :/

Admit packet came today. 60k, 10k/semester. 4.0/163. Applied Jan. 3rd. Handwritten note was a great touch, Emory seems like a great environment.

Just got my acceptance package in today. I'm in Louisiana so it may have just taken a bit longer to be delivered.

Accepted with $ via snail mail today. It came in a big packet with a lot of information and a really nice note from the dean.
Successful Friday. Good luck everyone!

Man. This waiting is one of the most horrible things ever. I have 166/3.45 and people with close to my stats keep getting in! And most frustrating is that I'm living in Atlanta, so when I see all of you getting the mail in places way farther away from Emory, it means I got skipped over again... Yes I'm bitter. Congrats to all the new admits, and I hope to be you one day

You're good. Don't sweat it! When you see others with stats close to yours, just take that as added confirmation to yourself that it's coming. I see these posts and I know that they're taking people above my LSAT still, so for me it's not so comforting. But for you, it should be assuring.skolks wrote:Man. I am aware I was passed over for the Woodruff, but I have yet to receive a rejection email. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm a little disappointed-- Emory undergrad with numbers above both 75th percentiles and decent softs.
On another note, congrats to all the recent admits! We got our first taste of spring in Atlanta yesterday.( Today's weather, on the other hand, has left much to be desired...)

Re: Emory c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
People were saying yesterday that it would be all admits, and then at some later point WL and rejects... that no one would get any rejects until after accepts are all out. That's what they're saying.. I dunno.. at least that seemed like the gist of what they were saying.howboutthemdawgs wrote:I am aware I was passed over for the Woodruff, but I have yet to receive a rejection email. Re: Emory c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hi, this is Ethan Rosenzweig, the dean of admission and financial aid at Emory Law. Thank you for allowing me to post periodically in this forum to provide updates on the admission cycle.
Admission Decisions: We mailed via USPS our second round of acceptances earlier this week, and I anticipate another round of acceptances going out the week of March 5th.
Application Deadline: Our application deadline is coming up. So long as Emory Law’s “Eapp” is submitted by the March 1st deadline, we will accept the February LSAT results that are released shortly thereafter. We are eager to read your application, so please get it in!
Scholarships: Our scholarships do not have any stipulations except that you remain in good standing (maintain a 2.25 GPA) each semester. I have received many questions about this policy, and to provide context, in my tenure as Dean of Admission, no student has lost their scholarship.
Woodruff Fellowship Program: Our Woodruff Fellowship selection process concludes next week. By now, we have notified each nominee of their status via email. I am learning that spam filter captures many of our emails; thus, if you have not receive notification of your status, please contact us at admission(a)law.emory.edu.
Visiting Day: Our host hotel notified me that they have a small number of rooms remaining. If you received an invitation and have not registered yet, please go to http://www.law.emory.edu/visitingday.
Finally, on a personal note, it is clear that many applicants have taken the time to craft very powerful and personal essays this year. The improvement from previous cycles is measurable, and I appreciate folks taking the time to make such a positive impact on their application.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at admission(a)law.emory.edu.
Thanks!

Does anybody else feel ready to commit? I'm 95% sure that I'm going to end up at Emory and I can't tell if I'm excited or nervous.

I will still be visiting a couple schools in March, but I have a gut feeling that Emory is where I will end up!
