I got 90 with 171/3.77. Matches my offer from UVA. Emory, I am disappoint. I figured they'd be more generous this year to try to attract higher caliber applicants and recover in the rankings, but I guess they're content. Comparing #30 to #35 with the cost, the choice between Emory and UGA is a no brainer, IMO.

UGA's cost is approx. 15,500 (tuition only). Emory with 30k per year is about the same. Emory opens you up to more markets besides ones in Georgia, so i'm not sure it's as much of a no brainer as you insistccmbr006 wrote:I got 90 with 171/3.77. Matches my offer from UVA. I said this with the fairly reasonable assumption that one who got 30 per year at Emory would also get money at UGA. And I wouldn't go to either one if I wanted a job outside of Georgia.

Other than Woodruff, I doubt it. Most schools seem to stop short of full tuition at 90.moxy wrote:Scholarship info via mail. Very generous 90K. Does Emory offer any more than this ?

Yeah. 69k!ScoutFinch wrote:$69k/year, stats in profile
Doesn't quite match my offers from SMU and WFU, but it's not chump change and I do like Atlanta.
I have concerns about debt though so it'll be hard to justify.

Just got the no negotiation email. Sucks, but I guess that's how it goes. Really doesn't make sense when you think about it. O well. Maybe others will have more luck.

does anyone know what this is about? didn't they switch up the dean like.. in 07? is that person leaving and they're looking for another one? Or is this a different dean lol
edit: okay so I was looking through emory's webpage and it seems like the current dean is an interim dean since july 2011? so I guess the other dean must've left last summer....
edit2: sorry for keep posting about stuff that nobody cares about buuut: http://emorywheel.com/detail.php?n=29812 , looks like the last "real" dean left in April 2011, and he held his position since 2006. But it seems like at least we'll get to meet the new dean by visiting day?

Yeah doesn't make sense at all to me, but I guess it does to the school in one fashion or the other. I'll be withdrawing fairly soon in that case.kroakstool wrote:Just got the no negotiation email.
