Top Law Schools

Not sure if this is in the right board, but oh well. I'm going to sign up for the December LSAT, it's my first one. I only started thinking about law school about 3 weeks ago but now I think I really want to do it. My question is, with rolling admission cycles, is applying in late December too late?

1) I'm looking real hard at Chicago-Kent for IP law, but I'll probably apply to a few other schools in Chicago like Loyola or Depaul.

2) My GPA is a 3.35 in electrical engineering. I've just started studying for the LSAT.

3) I want to do patent law, simple as that. Not sure how much a faceless person on the internet is going to sway me when all I want is to ask how late schools accept students.

You will be at a disadvantage in relation to people who took the June/October LSAT since most schools using rolling admissions (Chicago-Kent included) but the December LSAT is not late. Just make sure to submit the application as soon as you get your score.

Is it enough of a disadvantage that I should think about waiting a year to apply?

It's a sliding scale - so depends on how you do on the LSAT. You could end up costing yourself significant amounts of $ though - I took the December LSAT and did not get much $ from Loyola, who told me they were running low on schollys to give out.
