Re: Boston University c/o 2015 Applicants
Got my admission packet today. No money offer yet, but I got a bitchin set of sticky notes. Idk, is a packet of sticky notes from BU worth more than a full ride to Minnesota? Decisions, decisions...

Hey, I'll take what I get. Anyways, I'm hoping they'll send out something more after they get FASFA and stuff.ThreeRivers wrote:lol, I had a similar reaction *Searching, searching , searching for scholly offer.... well, at least I got sticky notes*Moultdog wrote:Got my admission packet today. I am pretty sure Northeastern... New England Law is just NEL.JoeMo wrote:When you guys are talking about NEU are you talking about Northeastern or New England?
If it's the latter, save it. If it's the former it's worth a shot. They don't have the best ranking on USNWR but they are a solid school and very well regarded in the area.

That's what I thought but just making sure because New England is pretty laughable.sdphill wrote:I am pretty sure Northeastern... New England Law is just NEL.JoeMo wrote:When you guys are talking about NEU are you talking about Northeastern or New England?

NEU = Northeastern Univ.JoeMo wrote:That's what I thought but just making sure because New England is pretty laughable.sdphill wrote:I am pretty sure Northeastern... New England Law is just NEL.JoeMo wrote:When you guys are talking about NEU are you talking about Northeastern or New England?

NEL = New England Law
I went to NEU undergrad on a scholly so I'm hoping my negotiations will look like this:
BU/BC offer minimal money.
Take money offer from BU/BC to NEU and negotiate for as close to full as possible (performance there undergrad + acceptances/offers at way better ranked schools).
Take big offer from NEU to BU/BC in hopes of leveraging some more $.
In a perfect world....
or just always peer leverage BU/BC I suppose...

Also I'd say that sounds like a solid plan.

It's more so a case of backtracking. There was a gap after I graduated that was less than six months, so I didn't include anything in my resume about it. (Pretty standard, from what I've read.) No other schools have asked about it, though.JoeMo wrote:What? How do they even know you have something to update?Moriarty wrote:BU just sent an email asking for me to update my resume. Hmmm.

Anyone know if BU has announced the public interest scholarships yet?

BU sent me a similar email asking about a gap in my resume and I received an acceptance phone call seven days later. So hopefully this is good news for you!Moriarty wrote:It's more so a case of backtracking. Same deal here on the email request, but it has been more than seven days. *gulp*LuckyinLaw? wrote:BU sent me a similar email asking about a gap in my resume and I received an acceptance phone call seven days later. +1. I browsed last year's thread, and it looks like they were announced in March.THATSHOWYOUGETANTS wrote:right? that's what i wanna know.unitedfrutopia wrote:Anyone know if BU has announced the public interest scholarships yet?

Do you remember if it was early, mid, or late March? (+1 to the waiters.) Also, how many complete dates did people get? I submitted 12/28, went complete 1/10 and then again 1/11, and complete again at 2/3.

Yeah, this would be my first choice if I go the public interest scholarship, but right now I'm looking at full COA at BU versus 45k at Fordham and 75k at WUSTL. I want to start negotiating but I don't want to irritate them if I'm a serious candidate for the public interest scholarship.

Looks like mid-March. Only one person mentioned getting a scholarship last year, and she didn't say anything about complete dates. I updated again today...I'm wondering if all the PI people are in a special pile somewhere!zor wrote:Do you remember if it was early, mid, or late March? (+1 to the waiters.)
