Congrats! DU is pretty high on my list right now. I'm sure it will keep changing until my last 2 decisions FINALLY get here, but whatever.

Thanks! I'm super excited! I love Colorado and half of my family lives there. I also visited DU last summer and loved it. I didn't get any money though, so I'll have to do some negotiating or try to find some way to make this work. It's a top choice for me, but I'm definitely not trying take on an insane amount of debt.un-vordox wrote:Congrats! DU is pretty high on my list right now. Got in early december and was awarded a presidential scholly. Pretty tempting right now bc it's in line with a lot of in state schools. Biggest knock is that it aint in Texas and they have some pretty asinine gun laws regarding 30 rd mags in denver.
I also don't see why you folks hate Texas so much, don't base it on Austin, the rest of the state's much better that that communist hell hole.

Has anyone decided, or is anyone close to deciding to attend DU yet? I've been leaning this way for the last couple weeks. Just waiting for one more decision.

Waiting to hear if I got any money at CU before I decide. Tough choice, even if CU doesn'tun-vordox wrote:Has anyone decided, or is anyone close to deciding to attend DU yet? I've been leaning this way for the last couple weeks. Just waiting for one more decision.

Yeah, I hear that. Mine was set on Denver though (as opposed to other places to move), so it looks like she's winning right now.tfleming09 wrote:I've just gotta convince my SO. I'm planning on visiting Denver first before I make any decisions, but unless it's absolutely stunning I'm going to go to Lewis and Clark.un-vordox wrote:Has anyone decided, or is anyone close to deciding to attend DU yet? Still waiting to hear from CU - in-state tuition there. That's definitely choice #1. The wife's family is in East TN and VA so it's looking like URichmond over Denver, but I still need to take her down to DU to have a look. I'm gunning for a clerkship, then criminal prosecution/defense, and generating clerks is something DU does not do well while Richmond appears to crank them out. Plus I got sticker at DU. I guess I'm saying there's still a chance I'll go to DU, not a big one, but there's a lot to be said for not having to move cross-country (again), plus I hate humidity.

Since DU gave me no scholarship I am most likely going to withdraw. I guess if I was going to pay sticker at DU, I should go ahead and pay sticker at the schools in the T-25 range that have accepted me. Right?un-vordox wrote:Has anyone decided, or is anyone close to deciding to attend DU yet? I've been leaning this way for the last couple weeks. Just waiting for one more decision.

Got WL on 1/26...anyone know if DU actually admits a lot of applicants from their WL?
163/2.56(3.23)
Congrats to those who got accepted and good luck to those still pending or WL!

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle: University of Denver c/o 2015
I received my acceptance last Monday with no scholarship. I emailed Dean Davis to push for some aid since I received large scholarships from Tulane and Lewis and Clark and my stats are pretty good (3.42/162). I didn't hear back so I called the admissions office on Tuesday and spoke to a member of the Scholarship Committee. 2 hours later I received a phone call saying they are offering me 21k/yr. Moral of the story ASK FOR MONEY. The worst they can do is say no.
good luck everyone! I will be visiting a few days before the admitted student days in March (since L&C's admitted student events are the same days and I live in Louisiana so I don't want to make more than one trip.) Will anyone else be in the area on March 20-22?

Withdrew today. Denver is a great place and DU has been good to me, but I'm just not ready for the westward move. Good luck everyone else!
