Both Driskel and Brissett have a lot of upside, though. I don't think it's entirely fair to judge them based on how they played against teams like Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina as true freshmen with no run game and almost no blocking. I'm not saying I expect either of them to win the Heisman next year, but they have much more potential than Brantley. Plus, it is nice having an offensive coordinator who focuses on football and not hamburgers.

There is a mandatory orientation that is self-funded called ILSP (Introduction to the Legal Profession). It is largely a waste of time, but you have to go. The first two days are seminars/classes with a dinner and a few lunches thrown in, and the third day is a community service day where you get to work for about half the day with a group of people. I think it was something like $150.00 last year.Dream Machine wrote:Just noticed under the fees paid section of the status checker that there is an orientation fee. What is that?

Most law students win the ticket lottery. I don't know of anyone who did not. Last season there were several games I couldn't make and literally I could not GIVE my ticket away to a law student because no one needed. The only ticket you may have trouble getting if you don't enter the lottery is lsu. If you forget To enter or don't win you can easily get a ticket. If all else fails pm me and I will tell you a great place to snag a spare from inebriated alumni.seancris wrote:Did you see Driskel or Brissett play last season? I'll always be a gator, and I'm hoping for the best, but they both sucked big time.drunkewok28 wrote:Ha! We'll see about that with Driskel/Brissett taking over the reins. (Good riddance, Brantley).
There's probably like a 40% chance that an incoming law student will get season tickets. But you have to register for the ticket lottery by like June 5th, most years. Even if you don't get season tickets, you'll usually be able to find tickets on craigslist for $20 for bad games and $40 for good ones.Anyway... lately it's been pretty easy to win the football ticket lottery. Even among freshman, it seems that a very large number were able to obtain them. This is obviously a direct result of recent failures on the field...
As far as qbs, I'm secretly cheering for Tyler Murphy to come out of no where and steal the job.

So false. I had to sell four of my tickets last season and sold them to a law student every time. You weren't looking in the right places.bendtheslurry wrote: Most law students win the ticket lottery. I don't know of anyone who did not. Been FRNDR for months, and my current status update was changed to today but still FDNDR. Guess my app was looked at again and left in limbo. Oh well.

No its true. I gave away my Fau and UAB tickets. I offered them to my section first then Facebook. No one wanted them so I just gave them away. Obviously if the game isn't against some shit school they are easy to sell.LSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote:So false. I had to sell four of my tickets last season and sold them to a law student every time. Weird. I gave away Furman because JMBA was doing some charity thing, but then I sold my Bama, FSU, Vandy and UAB all above value I think too except maybe Vandy. I feel like a bad fan, but seeing the bf is more important.bendtheslurry wrote:No its true. I gave away my Fau and UAB tickets. I offered them to my section first then Facebook. UF's defense is good, but the offense will be a s***show again this season. Probably finish 3rd in the East behind UGA and USC

This. I think it might be the worst offense we've seen in the last 10 years. Driskel and Brisset both appear to be unable to complete a pass, and this time we have no running game. Just Gilleslie. And the only player who can catch the ball is Trey, and no one really knows what position he plays.noleknight16 wrote:UF's defense is good, but the offense will be a s***show again this season.

Back to admissions-related stuff for a minute, last batch of scholarships will probably be this coming week. One person in admissions said that scholarships would be going out through mid-April, but the most recent info I have said that all offers will be made by April 1st.
In any case, I'm not holding my breath.

With your perfect gpa, scholarship at Emory, and good LSAT score, have they given you a reason for not giving you a scholarship? Almost seems like an administrative screw up.

Re: U. of Florida c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I really have no idea. Not many people with a 163 have been given scholarship funds, but at least one (with a lower GPA and a non-URM) has been given a MAXIMUM scholarship. So I'm in the dark. And they really should research the people that they offer scholarships too, because I instantly knew that the person with the max scholly wouldn't attend since I had just checked out her LSN profile which said she had already sent her seat deposit in somewhere else. Pretty infuriating from my standpoint watching scholarships awarded to OOS students with lower stats who definitely wouldn't attend.Figure.N9ne wrote:With your perfect gpa, scholarship at Emory, and good LSAT score, have they given you a reason for not giving you a scholarship? Administrative screw-up would be practically impossible as I've been communicating with several administrators about this since December.
I have some conspiracy theories that they might think that they have leverage that they don't actually have, but I really doubt it.They also might prefer non-UF alumni since they really do get a ton of UF alumni. I know another UF ugrad with a 3.9/170 and he hasn't even been accepted despite applying very early. So that may be a factor. PM me if you want details about my app if it's relevant to your interests.
Either way, at this point it would take their max scholly for me to even consider it. I'm all set for next year's cycle and the upcoming LSATs tbh. Four more points on the LSAT either in June or October and I'll have a full scholarship to W&L (#24) and probably get admitted to at least one of the lower T14.

Hi guys. I'm overseas right now so it's hard to get in contact with the financial aid office, but I had a quick question. Do need based grants stack on to the merit aid offers we received? As in I just received Y amount for need in addition to having already received X amount for merit. My UF financial aid package would then be X + Y?
I only ask because of this line on their website:
"(Students selected for more than one scholarship will receive the award of greatest value.)"

Thanks so much everyone.

I'll be going, but I am lucky to still be an undergraduate at a university and a member of a fraternity that has a chapter down at UF. I'll be staying on a shitty futon most likely, but the money I'm saving on lodging is worth it.Its Always Sunny wrote:I will be attending ASD. Probably going to get a hotel for the night before. Being said, this school is in my final 3.

For those of you who are still NDR, there is still hope! My app went complete on 12-2 and I got the "decision in transit" notification on 3/14. So I was NDR for over 3 months, but finally admitted!

Hey guys,
This forum is filled with mostly admissions information (LSAT, GPA, index scores, scholarships), so I created one for admitted students to discuss other information like housing and classes. Here's the link!
