In! Duke is one of my top choices despite my collegiate sport allegiances. Hopefully they pull through with a nice scholarship. I did send in a why duke essay.

Congrats everyone that is in! I'm having serious submission anxiety. keep making really small changes to my personal statement, and telling myself I'll submit it after my advisor reads it just one more time...

In finally! I got accepted without a Why Duke, and it's a relief to have to at least one now. I'm so grateful for the PT.

when do you all think Duke will start reviewing applications that were not PT (but had fee waivers) and were submitted on 9/15 or shortly after? I didn't think to ask about PT although I solicited/was granted a fee waiver and my stats are just high enough that I might otherwise be YP'ed at Duke...

+1. Except my stats aren't high enough to worry about being YP'ed-- just hoping to get in! I have been "Ready for Review" since the 22nd...pineappledazzler wrote:when do you all think Duke will start reviewing applications that were not PT (but had fee waivers) and were submitted on 9/15 or shortly after? Not sure if this was already addressed...
For the extracurriculars part on Section 9, is it okay to just copy / paste the description from my resume?
I figure it doesn't really make sense to try to come up with a new way to phrase it, but wanted to see what others did.

Just got my acceptance packet--it's nice to realize that this wasn't a glitch in the computer system. Or it could still be, but a very involved mistake.

Me too! I love them. I don’t know if all schools do them, but I definitely favor a school that takes the time to hand write notes and include personalized information. Duke is looking good!elibrarian wrote:Ditto. Also, those hand written notes really get me. Just got my packet as well. The note was neat, but the only things I care about are employment prospects and COA

But... we just gave you... a lanyard. If that doesn't seal the deal, I dunno what to tell you.Hawkeye Pierce wrote:Just got my packet as well. The note was neat, but the only things I care about are employment prospects and COA

Lanyard was pretty clutch, but it in no way supplants the memo-pad they sent with it

Wait, where's mine? Where are you people? I'm in Alabama! That's not that far! Where is my mail? Or did y'all get it at y'all's permanent address? (And yes, I just used y'all. Leave me alone.)elibrarian wrote:Ditto. Also, those hand written notes really get me.
