Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Quick question: My application is currently under review. Today I noticed a typo in my addendum so I sent in an updated one without the typo. The admission office changed it right away. However, tonight I was going through my my application materials and I noticed that the fixed document did not save to my computer. So I sent in an updated form that wasn't actually updated. Does fixing this make me look more like a dumbass or should I fix it regardless of how stupid it makes me look? Does it matter that my file is in review already?

Totally matters that your file is in Review. Did you mistype Berkeley as Golden Gate University?drizzle12 wrote:Quick question: My application is currently under review. Although I may be a dumbass I'm not that stupid. I typed "my academics ability" rather than "my academic ability." The irony of it makes my mistake much worse. Hopefully they appreciate accidental humor.

Oh no, that's totally passable. I found a similar mistake in my "Why Mich" and they didn't care. I abstained from sending the corrected one because I didn't want to call unnecessary attention to it.drizzle12 wrote:Although I may be a dumbass I'm not that stupid. Dinged RD out-of-state, 3.85/163. Poo, I was hoping to return to the Bay Area. Good luck to everyone else!

So if we are to look at historical data, we could possibly find out if we are going to FR today

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Still deciding. I'm having a hard time deciding because I think I'd love both schools. I know my family kind of wants me to pick Michigan, but I think the Bay Area and the Boalt grading system seem pretty badass. Unfortunately, I'm abroad right now and I think I'm only going to be able to make it to Boalt's ASW, so I'll see how it goes from there.JoeMo wrote:I'm set on MIchigan as the cycle stands right now. But if I were to get into Boalt, Penn or CLS I would have to do some analyzing. I need for my husband to be able to get a J-o-b and prospects in major cities are much better than in A2. (Detroit is a shithole as far as a job market is concerned)Real Madrid wrote: P.S. JoeMo, are you for sure set on Michigan even if you get into Boalt? Or would it be a close call then?
Did you choose Boalt over Mich already or are you still weighing them out?

They seem to vary in sending out decisions, no? We've seen mass dings/acceptannces, and then onesies. Obviously this is just based on the TLS crowd, but it is wierd how they do it.trinakat wrote:Dinged RD out-of-state, 3.85/163. Poo, I was hoping to return to the Bay Area. Good luck to everyone else!

Send them a letter saying you occidentally typed "academics".drizzle12 wrote:Although I may be a dumbass I'm not that stupid. I typed "my academics ability" rather than "my academic ability." The irony of it makes my mistake much worse. Hopefully they appreciate accidental humor.
Also,
UR!!!!! Less than a week since I submitted my app.
My top choice is also likely to be my first response, and my first rejection.
(I think I also just described by love life there )
Oh, and can I just add,
When I went to visit George Washington, it was my first time in DC, and I walked by the White House. It's one thing to go and visit the White House, it's another feeling entirely to just walk briskly passed it cause you've got shit to do. It feels awesome.
When I went to visit Hastings, I walked by some crack heads, and this homeless guy tried to sell me weed. I was dressed well and carrying like $2000 worth of stuff and I was genuinely scared by the time I got to the campus.
Davis is boring, but I'll take boring over sketchy.

Thanks. These next 10 days are going to go by so slow, if it even is 10 days.
BTW, I devoted a page of my PS to Why B, but I visited again a couple days ago and I have a much better view of the school now and some substantive things that I want to say. Is it appropriate to send in a "LOCI" 1 week after the app?

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Ok well awesome. Even if I get into Boalt, I'd probably only make it to Mich's ASW given time constraints requesting time off at work and stuff. Although, who cares if I get fired at this point? Unemployment line here I come. But all seriousness, if I get into Boalt we could exchange information from what we picked up at the 2 ASW's. Even if I don't get into Boalt I'll be more than happy to share the Mich experience with you.Real Madrid wrote:JoeMo wrote: Still deciding. Edit: I visited Berkeley MLK weekend. I sat in on a Evidence class and Haney-Lopez' Con Law and had a great time in both of them. For those who haven't visited, I can't really imagine you having a bad experience there so I wouldn't be too concerned if you can't visit.
