You won't get waitlisted/rejected, but if that were to happen, at least you invented a new word/phenomenon: thought dicking.thelong wrote:I prefer to think that they turned it into a fine pulp and composted it. Clearly they owe me a decision at this point.Mr. Somebody wrote:

Owe.

But, seriously, I'll probably do stuff that will get me on the no-fly list if I get rejected/WLed.

It comforts me to see hundreds of other November and before submitters on LSN who are still waiting/soon to be waitlisted.

Yea man, I honestly found myself thinking I was thought dicking people (Inception!) in real life. You need to take this global. I'd be proud to know I was there during a defining moment of internet etymological history.thelong wrote:Honestly, I'm pretty proud of that, no matter the outcome.ScrabbleChamp wrote:You won't get waitlisted/rejected, but if that were to happen, at least you invented a new word/phenomenon: thought dicking.thelong wrote:I prefer to think that they turned it into a fine pulp and composted it. Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
So is it unreasonable to think that a lot of us might still be accepted? Is this whole every-post-about-us-all-getting WL'd thing just people trying to keep their hopes low in fear of them getting destroyed, or do people really think that all of the people who submitted a while ago are going to be waitlisted? Idk, I submitted in November and haven't heard anything yet, and my confidence about getting accepted is still (much) lower than it used to be, but I haven't completely written off a chance of acceptance yet. And judging from the numbers of people still waiting, I would think other people would be more hopeful than they seem to be.
I just can't tell if people are joking or being genuine in this whole "we're all gonna be WL'd" mentality. Even if they have filled 75% of their seats, that's still a decent amount left...

In all honesty, I do believe that many people will still get in. I'm not faking my voice of optimism--even if I don't get in, I still hope that a lot of TLSers who deserve a spot at a great school get one. And if that spot's not at Michigan, then I hope they have equally great opportunities and are happier elsewhere.oaken wrote:So is it unreasonable to think that a lot of us might still be accepted? Despite my rhetoric, in real life I'm pretty impervious to bad news (sometimes annoyingly so). I don't know about everyone, but I suspect most people are being dramatic purposefully. I'd definitely be upset if I didn't get into Mich., but the sun will still shine.oaken wrote:So is it unreasonable to think that a lot of us might still be accepted? That being said, even being realistic for a minute and stepping away from the woe is me talk, I'm sure there are more acceptances trickling out, but judging by last year's LSN there were roughly 23 straight acceptances after around this date. LSN isn't representative of the entire applicant pool really, but if only 15% of law school students or so use it we're still only looking at maybe 2-300 straight acceptances max nationwide for the rest of the cycle. Rest is WL action (which is probably around 50-60 people, probably less). Chances aren't terrible, but they aren't incredible at this point either, and given the amount of people that got WLed it seems reasonable to think this makes sense.
So yea, while everyone is definitely being melodramatic, it's also half serious in nature.

I pretty much gave up on this thread because I assumed I was wait list bound. No why Mich submitted 11/02 but in via status checker today! There is still hope. Good luck everyone!

I'm happy for the poaster above, but I hate that just when I finally get to a zen place about not hearing, I get false hope. I could not check the thread, but we all know that's not going to happen.

i guess umich is just like the rest of them. they look at your stats, and if you're high (accept quickly) or low (reject with next batch) you'll hear back early. if you have somewhere-n-the-middle stats, you get to sit here and wait in the order we sent them.
congrats to the in's

jettisent doesn't have "middle" stats, he's easily auto admit. I think this is good news for all of us who submitted earlyLiquox wrote:i guess umich is just like the rest of them. they look at your stats, and if you're high (accept quickly) or low (reject with next batch) you'll hear back early. if you have somewhere-n-the-middle stats, you get to sit here and wait in the order we sent them.
