My award amount showed up the day after the letter showed up on ASW.ralph_pootawn wrote:so on the asw site under mail and admissions communications it says dean scholarships letter with an approx sent date of 12/22. now I know some of oyu all were able to see how much you were awarded before you got the mail. when i click financial aid award information it says zero awards found. is there some trick i am missing or do i jsut need to wait.
Also, do they ever reconsider Dean's scholarship amounts later in the cycle based on a strong fall semester? Is that something we have to request? I guess if we have better offers from other schools and we want to let them know, it wouldn't hurt to mention the rise in GPA at that time?

Same boat, but just a few days earlier for myself. Fear not, I have hope!FidusAchates wrote:Checking in. I submitted on 11/22, and got the app received email 12/7. I was really hoping that I'd get my status checker before Christmas, but it's starting to look like that's not going to happen. Anyone else who applied around the same time still in this boat?
Oh, and I love you, Michigan. Please love me?

What is the range of scholarships we have seen so far?
On LSN it seems to range from 18,000 - 67,500.

And Darrow is full tuition? After being accepted how quickly do people get a Darrow invite? If you have already been awarded aid but haven't gotten an invite are you definitely not getting invited?icedflames wrote:I believe the highest is $67500 for three years, and then after that are Darrow ScholarshipsZelda wrote:What is the range of scholarships we have seen so far?

If you might qualify for a Darrow and haven't received the invite, it only comes out in an email and you can't see it the mailings section. Be careful about checking your SPAM folder.Zelda wrote:And Darrow is full tuition? After being accepted how quickly do people get a Darrow invite? I don't think all Darrows are full rides - it says "up to a full ride and stipend," but doesn't have a minimum range.

Darrow is up to full tuition plus stipend, but if you have received aid already, I dont think youll be getting an invite.Zelda wrote:And Darrow is full tuition? I don't think all the Darrows are full tuition. I think they range from half to full and then some are full plus stipend. I think the Darrow deadlines are 1/3 from other people's postings so I'm thinking those of us that did not get an invite are probably SOL. (Not that I ever in a million years thought that I'd be getting one but I'm just saying)Zelda wrote:And Darrow is full tuition? After being accepted how quickly do people get a Darrow invite? Although I'm not sure if maybe there is more than one deadline.

From the Darrow invite: "Darrows vary in amount, but can be as large as full tuition for three years at the Law School, plus a stipend."
ETA: And yes, the deadline for the first round was 1/3 with a decision to follow in 2 weeks time. I believe there is more than 1 round, but if its past 6 weeks since your were admitted, the decision on merit aid has already been made according to the admit email.

On LSN it seems to range from 18,000 - 67,500.
Those who posted $18k actually received a 54k total scholarship for 3 years.
The amount posted in ASW is under per year (thus 18k), but the amount in your letter explains that it is for three years (at least that's how I remember it).
So your range is:
The per year amounts are 10k-22.5k.
The total amounts are 30k-67.5k.
More scholarship info will be sent later-some will be eligible for need-based aid in addition to the Dean's scholarship. More merit based scholarships may also go out. (It stated I was eligible on mine, but on others explicitly said they were not).

I'm very confused about the Michigan status check; if it says Status: Complete, does it mean that the application is still under review? What will it change to when they come to a decision?

I'm not up to par with some of these terms. What does ASW/ASW-trick mean? Just want to make sure I am not missing out on anything important. I'm just trying to put some of these comments into context so I can understand if and/or how they relate to me as an applicant. Thanks for the help in advance!Take Two wrote:they changed the ASW its now status checker you should be pursuing relentlessly. or so I hear, I would never do that...cactuarX3 wrote:just got my status check ID; anyone know how long i should wait until starting to attempt the ASW trick?

Used to be that the fastest way to find out if you were accepted was to try and log on to the admitted students page. If you could do so you were in and the letter would come a little later. However, Dean Z in her infinite wisdom and kindness has responded to the forlorn requests of TLSers just like you and me by having the status checker indicate an acceptance first with the ASW changing soon afterwards!PopTorts13 wrote:I'm not up to par with some of these terms.
