Got the standard email in reply-
Dear ssteiner,
Thank you for your interest in Columbia Law School. As of today, a decision has not yet been sent on your behalf. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications we've received it is not possible for us to give you a specific timeline on when you will be receiving a decision letter. Please know that every effort is made to inform all applicants of their decision by the end of April.

I don't really see why they would even hold people at this point. There are only five weeks before their "hear by date".ssteiner wrote:Got the standard email in reply-

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, but I haven't been held. I sent them an email yesterday asking them about the status of my application and received this in response.FryBreadPower wrote:I don't really see why they would even hold people at this point. Aw I should have looked backwards. I just saw this post and assumed you were referring to being held.ssteiner wrote:Apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, but I haven't been held. Honestly at this point I've basically given up, unless they come to with a huge scholarship offer. NYU can have me.

this seems odd to me that Columbia would be so silent at this point, I feel for all of you out there waiting and I hope you all get good news soon! Does anyone know if this is abnormal ie was there similar silence in previous cycles?

Edit: Why the hell have you not been accepted yet? Are you going to HYS? Did you apply late and now regret it?

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I have no idea why I haven't been accepted, honestly, and it's really frustrating. I applied in late December, so while I didn't apply early, I certainly didn't apply late.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Sad, but true.ssteiner wrote:That's the first thing I did, haha. As for HYS- I was heavily thinking about leaving NYC but decided against it. I have a longterm girlfriend (3+ years) living in NYC with me and I'm not willing to move away when our relationship will already be strained by the general burden of law school. So I'm most likely going to NYU with 30k/year, unless Columbia gets back to me *soon*.

LOL we better not be.Geneva wrote:Are people on "hold" or forgotten pretty much out of the picture for scholarship money?
And I would say no...considering half the potential class is on Hold at this point.
