Yup, I think this is excellent reason to keep hoping.thestillpoint wrote:I'm in the same position (also admitted at H in December). Unsuccessful with the Voldemort trick, in NYC, no VCE. However, I looked at LSN for the applicants with the same LSAT as me last cycle and a close range of GPAs. All but one got into Columbia, including quite a few with $. It seemed like there was another wave of acceptances around the second week of Feb. So now I'm feeling more hopeful! I think we're going to be seeing a lot more acceptances over the next few weeksheavy wrote:Is there anybody else out there with numbers above both medians, who has gotten into stanford and or harvard, who still has not heard back? Thought a couple of days ago i might have seen a few amidst the madness over "the trick."
any theories as to the reason? YP? weak application or poorly tailored to columbia?
thanks guys

Well I didn't think I had anything useful to say before, but I thought this info would be interesting to people.

I seem to remember someone with more credibility saying this (minus the Hamilton) earlier.FryBreadPower wrote:Why must you have one post and make claims like this?!hellotherethisisme wrote:Just got in with a Hamilton! For the record, I did the Voldemort thing and couldn't log in.

It would be really helpful and reassuring to a lot of people here who really want CLS and don't want false hope if you could upload a pic of your envelope and postmark and also give a vague location. This happens really frequently and it usually ends up being a troll getting people's hopes up and this is the only way anyone will ever believe you. Hope that wouldn't be too much trouble!

Yes, that was shortly before describing that he was merely saying it because he was, "bored at school"acadec wrote:I seem to remember someone with more credibility saying this (minus the Hamilton) earlier.FryBreadPower wrote:Why must you have one post and make claims like this?!hellotherethisisme wrote:Just got in with a Hamilton! No, that guy was claiming to have gotten one and then been rejected. I just went back and tried to find the person I was thinking of and couldn't, though, so I'm probably wrong.FryBreadPower wrote:Yes, that was shortly before describing that he was merely saying it because he was, "bored at school"acadec wrote:I seem to remember someone with more credibility saying this (minus the Hamilton) earlier.FryBreadPower wrote:Why must you have one post and make claims like this?!hellotherethisisme wrote:Just got in with a Hamilton! If I remember correctly he did the first half of the thing.acadec wrote: No, that guy was claiming to have gotten one and then been rejected. I just went back and tried to find the person I was thinking of and couldn't, though, so I'm probably wrong.

I'm not insulted by the doubt....I would be skeptical of me, too. I'm sure someone with more credibility will confirm soon.
I'm in the New England area, and it was postmarked January 25th.
(I would upload a pic but I honestly have no idea how....)

At this point, I am just hoping that there will be multiple rounds of acceptances and those people who couldn't login are just going to be included in these future rounds.

Hm. This does seem to confirm the theory of multiple waves, but are you totally sure you entered all your information correctly on the Voldemort thing?hellotherethisisme wrote:I'm not insulted by the doubt....I would be skeptical of me, too. I'm sure someone with more credibility will confirm soon.

Please could you just give a teensy little picture of your Vomit Envelope? Would change my day dramatically.

I posted about multiple waves earlier, but it bears repetition. I looked in last year's thread and there appeared to be 2-3 waves in the January round.acadec wrote:Hm. I guess the more important thing about these waves is if "Voldemort database" was updated AS these waves went out rather than a mass update of all admits before any of the waves went out. Obviously, we are all hoping for the former to be true.MachineLemon wrote:I posted about multiple waves earlier, but it bears repetition. VCE today in New England with a Butler. (I really get the name now--I wonder why they choose that color; it's not like it's school colors or anything. Bleh.)
Congrats everyone who's heard! And Yankees, awesome news on the Hamilton!
