If we haven't received the 3rd reserve email yet, does that mean we didn't make the cut?thelawyler wrote:No reserve email. I guess I'm dead haha.
How do they inform us of that--snail mail? or a separate email later on?

I may be wrong but I seem remember that last time invitations to join the 2nd reserve went out in waves. I wouldnt read too much into it just yet.

Reverse splitter hereJamMasterJ wrote:not sure, but I don't think they will let in more than 5 from this point. Are there still any ppl here at or above both medians?YesNoMaybe wrote:I already responded yes. It's down to the wire man. Oh Columbia. Do we think that anyone has been accepted off the reserve list yet? There was a cut from the 1-2 reserve right? How many people do y'all think are on the list? 100? Less? 50? 10 already on TLS.

Does Columbia remain no. 1 for many of you? Anyone going to make one last effort with a LOCI?

No, I but I seem to remain no. 1 for CLS. I sent them a withdrawal e-mail in June, so I could go to Cal, and then CLS put me on their 2nd reserve!
I then used the web link to withdraw and it worked.

Does anyone know of people getting rejected this wave of updates, or did everyone just get third reserves?

Seems like last time there was a lot more people posting re: getting the 2nd reserve email so either there were cuts made or folks removed themselves and only us diehearts remain. I think it'safe to assume that the 3rd reserve list is smaller. Not sure how much smaller though. & I think it's unlike more than a handful of people will be offered admissions (if that).

looks like quite a few of us got the 3rd reserve email. i almost wish they made a lot more cuts this round so at least there'd be a reasonable possibility of getting in off the reserve. i'd be one of those cuts, but yeah. haha.

So basically there are a million people still on the reserve list and at this point none of us will be getting off. (Okay maybe 1-3?!?) I don't get it. What's the point Columbia?!

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I got an offer, but am terrified of sticker price. Thought this was what I wanted but am now having panic attacks about 200k plus interest in debt. Obviously have been considering financial angle for a year, thinking carefully, applied for lower-ranked schools offering scholarships, etc. - but it wasn't until I actually got an offer that I really understood this decision: is Columbia worth it at full price? Not very confident my answer is yes. I know it's easy to be snide about this indecision, and a lot of people are still waiting for a positive signal from their school of choice... but frankly, from where I sit this is not a fun or easy decision to make, despite the fact I did all of my homework, thought I knew what I was doing, etc.

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Nothing remotely comparable. Turned down lots of $ at Brooklyn and some $ at Fordham and was settling into the idea of just not going to law school at all.... and then... have this offer and one from another T10, but not sure about money at the other school yet.
I know it's a crap thing to talk about when everyone is waiting to hear, but honestly I don't know if I can say yes! If it weren't for the money I'd be thrilled. If it was $100k in debt I wouldn't hesitate. But over $200k? It just seems totally insane.

Good luck making a decision. You clearly know both sides, and it's up to you to decide now. If you choose to do it, let us know in the Columbia law thread. Either way, congrats!

There are interviews? Maybe instead of putting all of us on the reserve Columbia should've sent the 3rd reserve email ONLY to those they're interviewing.
