Just went under review! Complete 11/4, RD. If LSN is an accurate indicator it seems like most RD acceptances will come out 1/9?

Still at UR status date of 12/14. I have no idea how many times its updated, since we know when decisions are, I haven't really checked it but for the purpose of speculation....

I don't think so. They spent so much less time doing calls this year than last year. Plus, their twitter response is very open ended. I think they may just want to spend time this week seeing what the RD applicants look like until they extend further offers.

Did anyone compare the number of admits last year to the number this year? I feel like that's a better gauge, but I don't have the heart to do it myself, since I hope they aren't finished.BigJohnso wrote:msblaw89 wrote:Do we think the Chicago eds are over?

Actually after reviewing ED dates and results of past years, I have become quite pessimistic. I think they are done with ED admits and next week there will probably be a wave of waiting list/rej.
I hope I am wrong.

I don't want to be cruel (and it also hurts me) but according to LSN, in the past several years, only one guy appled ED, got WLed yet finally got in. And that was four years ago.
My hope is dying.

I don't know why some of you do this. It's like the opposite of confirmation bias.rachelwang712 wrote:I don't want to be cruel (and it also hurts me) but according to LSN, in the past several years, only one guy appled ED, got WLed yet finally got in. And that was four years ago.

Look, right now, all you know is that there is no decision made. You may be right, but stressing and ruining your Christmas isn't worth it. Your logic also isn't bulletproof here. For one, we know this cycle is different from many others (especially with another significant drop of test takers in Dec.). Two, we also know they haven't made nearly as many ED calls as they did last year. Three, extrapolating data off LSN isn't the best. It can show trends that correlate with acceptances, but it still is a small fraction of the people accepted.
Four, half of you not in right now are dope as shit. The only thing Chicago might be considering is whether some of you might dilute their carefully cultivated pool of nerdiness with too much cool. it's a difficult task. Anyway just wanted to reassure you that I'm probably right (this is very often the case in regards to everything :p) and therefore your fear is unwarranted.

^I agree inasmuch as I think there will be more ED admits in the coming days.

Re: Chicago c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
There is no way we can do that - LSN is such a small, and self-selecting, sample size that it is meaningless.American_in_China wrote:Did anyone compare the number of admits last year to the number this year? I think all this optimism is going to do is cause me great stress next week until I get my WL/reject email.anewaphorist wrote:^I agree inasmuch as I think there will be more ED admits in the coming days.

Re: Chicago c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I'm not sure if that makes sense given who was admitted. If they wanted further review ED applicants in light of what the RD pool looksl like it would've made sense to admit people with the highest indexes and then judge the borderline aps later. We don't really see that. Either more ED admits are coming next week (which I think is most likely, but can't figure out why there's a gap in admissions), they picked random names out of a hat, or admissions went beyond numbers.BigJohnso wrote:msblaw89 wrote:Do we think the Chicago eds are over?
