Updated for Penn rejection and withdrawal(s). I've resolved to be less neurotic about the rest of the pendings since I have an inkling of what the results will be.
IN: Northwestern (love NU), UIUC (dollas)
WL: Columbia, Berkeley (after FR1), Chicago, UVA (no Why UVA)
WL, withdrew: UCLA
Reject: Penn (dammit Penn!!)
Pending: Harvard (lulz), Michigan (prolly waitlist/reject), NYU (prolly waitlist/reject)

Good call on your part. Chicago's one hell of a school but 45K at Mich is hard to pass up. I hope to be in your position though it's looking likely Mich is going to WL/reject me.American_in_China wrote:I"ll still ride it, but I don't know what I would choose; Chicago hits the diminishing returns in terms of its ability to take me back to TN.kennethellenparcell wrote:Wowowow this is amazing news. Send something more in; I actually got emailed by the school to talk to them about my GPA before I was accepted; I wrote a 2 page reply back and got accepted two days later. And then the scholarship offer a week after that. Michigan may not be as numbers independent as some people say, but they do really value understanding where you're coming from. The more they know about you, the better.kennethellenparcell wrote:Good call on your part. Chicago's one hell of a school but 45K at Mich is hard to pass up. 176/ 2.9
In at Northwestern. WL at UVA, GTown.
In at WUSTL (60k) Boulder ($?), UC Irvine (36k), Hastings ($?), among others.
Still waiting on Cornell, Davis.
Rejected at the rest of the top 15 or so, and Minn.
Not sure what I'll be doing next year. I really like NU, but I'm terrified of the cost, no real draw to Chicago. Hoping for UVA to come through but also weighing Boulder, Irvine, Hastings (if they offer some $).
All in all- happy with how the cycle has gone.

Retake, with a 165 or more, you're getting $$$$ from all those schools you've been rejected from...and with a 168, you're getting into T-14s.FinallyGoing wrote:You're crazy not to re-take.RollTideAL90 wrote:155/3.9

Troll. Legitimately stupid people actually manage to get the difference between "you're" and "your" correct at least half the time by sheer chance.georgemasonhopeful wrote:Geneva wrote:i think he means he got into a good school w/o having be a loser (person that had to work hard) in college? though i'm way too tired to understand anything atmGeetar Man wrote:georgemasonhopeful wrote:yup this is me. got into a good school and didn't have to a FUCKING LOSER in college. lol

oh, hey, hadn't seen this thread before.
In: GWU/Davis
Out: Boalt/Minn
WL: Columbia (reserve) /Virginia/GULC (preferred ) /NU
Ugh.
I feel like I'm going to hear bad news from Michigan today. Not sure why.
I'm pretty unhappy with the way things are going, obviously. Still to hear from UCLA/Cardozo (will not attend)/ Penn/Mich/NYU/Cornell
Cornell seems like my best shot right now. I'd be pretty mad if I get rejected there too.
