Yes, please.

I do wonder when they will start looking over the WL to determine whom (if any) they will admit. Last year, Dean Deal said on May 10 (which corresponds to next Monday) she had not gotten around to reviewing the WL but would soon. I need some info to keep me sane...

Yeah, I'm not holding out hope for any movement before the end of May. Someone said in the main Stanford thread that his/her waitlist letter had a later return date (May 16th? 18th?) which presumably means Stanford won't start evaluating waitlist candidates until at least after then.

In other news, I want to send Stanford something to update my file, but don't know what. I've been out of school for a bit, so it was hard enough just to drum up two LORs--I'm not counting on getting someone to write me a third. My boss knows I'm leaving in a few months, so I'm definitely not getting promoted or anything. And I already wrote one LOCI a few weeks ago. Hmm. Thoughts?

What my advisors have been telling me is that unless you have a really compelling reason why they should accept specifically you that wasn't in your original application, the LOCI is really sort of just a check mark to make sure you cared enough to send something in.

If you already sent one less than six weeks (totally arbitrary length), I would say that with nothing new to update, you'd be safe to just not do anything and might even appear too desperate by sending another one. Dean Deal said in her blog post (around christmastime I think?) that, while she appreciates updates, she doesn't want us cluttering up her inbox.

Decided to ride the wait list until July... they didn't give out the number of people on the wait list on the phone, so now we truly are in the dark

Yeah, I also asked them if they thought they would be dipping into the WL. They said they weren't sure, which I am going to take in the best light as to mean the just won't tell us, not that they are really so close to full they can't even tell.

hahaha, your blissful bubble of boundless optimism. It's hilarious. In the mean-time, have you decided what school is your number 2?

My optimism has gotten me this far, so I'll keep holding on.

I'll be at Columbia unless S or H call me sometime over the summer (I will pretty much go to either no matter when they call).

To has just got to be a big day of movement -- hold on to your hats!
I have no reason to think this, just unbridled optimism.

Hahaha I'd be shocked. I don't think Stanford even starts to pull from their waitlist until late May, generally.

May 11th doesn't qualify as "late May"? Bummer . . . :P

Let the wait continue.
