Congratulations Dabbadon. It's tough to have that deadline so soon..but can you tell us at what point they offered you the aid? Was it immediate with your acceptance?

They let me know the day after the acceptance/interview.

Duke is great and all, but really Michigan w/54k is an appreciably better deal than Duke w/60k, IMHO

Congrats! You should probably choose Duke, both because it's a fantastic school and because I'm on the waitlist at U Mich . You can't go wrong either way, though.

It was most helpful because I could see the way I reacted to people's comments, I felt like I was promoting duke and saw myself giving reasons why duke would be better for me. It was also useful to see all the facts laid out. After looking at the job statistics and feeling that I wouldn't be sacrificing anything career wise, it came down to the weather, lifestyle, and wanting to practice in the south/southeast (and no desire to practice/live in the midwest).

I do really like michigan, but I am glad I decided to go to duke. I had really got myself excited for michigan so it was tough to change my mind so quickly. It was also tough after being on tls for a year to give up the higher ranked school. Though I like telling people I am going to duke better then michigan. I get a congrats now instead of "wow it is going to be freezing up there!"

Im surprised we haven't seen/heard anything either. Was Duke's deposit online or by mail? Sometimes if its by mail, they wait a bit longer to make sure they've received everyones....plus, annoyingly it seems that they've even chased a few people who didn't submit.
