Top Law Schools

I applied to this school in late december and havnt heard anything after my file was complete. is anyone else being ignored by this school or do they just not like me?

Me too. I applied and was marked completed in late November. I applied to the JD/MA SID program though.

I applied for the JD/MPH in early December, and I haven't heard anything yet either. I emailed admissions last week to see if my status will go to "In Review" before a decision is rendered, and one of the women from admissions responded right away saying that "Complete File" indicates that the application is being reviewed. She said that I'm guaranteed to hear by April 15, and that "hopefully" I'll hear sooner because they send the majority of their decisions in March. Fingers crossed that they make their decisions soon. Good Luck!

a friend called them the other day and they apparently were like "yeah, um, that happens sometimes. we're still working on applications"

Same here. Complete since Dec 7th. At this point I've decided to say screw northeastern. Im above their median GPA and LSAT but they have not kept in touch in any way shape or form.

I feel the same way. I'm above both 75s and I applied b/c I really like the Boston area, but this is just ridiculous now. Even beyond that, they're notorious for not giving out much merit aid...

how did northeastern jump 15 spots (86 to 71) in the USNWR rankings if they're notorious for offering very little merit aid? What students are they attracting there with $8,500 year? Is this jump more b/c they've renovated/constructed new buildings or something?

It's called gaming the system. The difference from 86 to 71 is miniscule b/c very small changes in raw score can make that difference.

Northeastern has been ignoring me since january. Oh well, they weren't matching my WUSTL $$ anyway. I prefer Boston, but I'm probably not getting into BU/BC and I might as well withdraw from NE at this point.

I went complete Feb 11 and was admitted on Feb 16.

I applied in september, got deferred in december and haven't heard anything since... It's so annoying to look at LSN and see people that applied with similar numbers who got in like a week later wtf?!

I applied in December but decided to retake the Feb LSAT so I'm still in limbo. I think NE will continue to go up in rankings with their COOP programs. I think the reason they charge so much is because they can get paid that amount of money but so many people go into public interest that very few people actually pay back their full loans. If you graduate with $200,000 of debt and do public interest work (making under $50K a year) you qualify for Income based repayment schedules (currently single adult with those numbers pays about $295 a month). Then, if you stay in public interest for 10 years your loans are forgiven which works out to only paying about $30,000 for your entire legal education at NUSL. Something to think about.

This school is actually tied for first on my list; I just hope to hear back soon.

Yeah, I turned in my app Nov 15, was admitted 3 weeks later with $28,500 scholly. They were very fast for me, and my LSAT is not spectacular or anything! Maybe you guys should call and check on your apps? I withdrew my acceptance through because of other cheaper options at higher ranked schools-- they are not that liberal with cash in my opinion.
