Yes, everyone enjoys a good underdog story. But this is a place to share your horror stories. Perhaps it was a safety school or a school that sent you a merit-based fee waiver. Either way you did not see it coming... and... then... DING!

Do waitlists count?

I would prefer no waitlists. I want to avoid having this turn into a big YP debate.

Michigan. Numbers weren't YP worthy, but I got a waitlist despite being an admit.

None yet, but I'm an admit at bc/bu on lsp and I'm fully expecting a ding at both. They dot seem to take many gpas below 3.4

Notre Dame, 3.9/166, got 1/2 scholarship to higher schools. I seriously think it's because I'm gay.

I was considered an Admit at Stanford and was the first person on TLS to receive a rejection letter.

Ok, I'll report back in a month and talk about Michigan State eventually denying me despite 89% of their students having a lower index score than me.

Hmmm that's odd. My friend, who is also gay, got in last year with a <3.9/165 and a scholly. He has strong softs though. Weird.

I have a few, but that is because LSP is bad at predicting URM supersplitters (and supersplitters in general).

Wow, I'm seriously shocked!!

I got dinged at BC (total ADMIT) but accepted at BU (total MAYBE WE WILL CONSIDER YOU).

161/ 3.8 WL at American despite getting money at Wake and into UMD and George Mason. I'm an Admit at 79%.

ha ha no, I'm pretty sure the thing that fucked me was that section of the application that asks what other schools I was applying to. I wrote down things like UVA, Michigan, Cornell, UCLA, etc. I'm pretty sure that they thought I was shooting for the moon and would go to the highest school that accepted me, and that I had a good chance of getting into some of those places.
