Re: You were considered a"Deny" by LSP but actually got in!!!
LSP said I would be denied at Colorado, Connecticut and Penn State. I got into all three- Colorado with a 30K scholarship, and Penn State also with a 30K scholarship. Going to Colorado next year!

For whatever a wait list is worth, 163/3.2, non URM, late-app at UVA.
In terms of the AA thing, I think all that's really important as far as the thread is concerned is that URM admits make clear note of the fact on their post(s) so that others, both URM and non-URM, can have an accurate frame of reference. Political commentary, discourse belongs in a different thread for those who are interested. .02

W&L - 25% (Waitlist)
FSU - 13 % (Accepted!)
Still waiting to hear from Florida.
I'm a non-URM with the good (or bad) fortune to be from a rather underprivileged economic and social background. Also a few years of work. So good to get into one of my top schools, apparently against the odds. I'm thinking being a Florida boy might have helped too!

LSP does NOT know what to do with URM splitters. The reason I say this is because it has you as in at every school except HYS and Berkeley with a 3.0 and a 180.
Um, pretty sure there are GPA floors, LSP. Get your shit together! You're getting my hopes up.

Berkeley (accepted)
NYU (accepted)
Chicago (WL)
Columbia (WL)
Still waiting to hear from Stanford (oh how I would love positive news from Stanford as unlikely as it is...)

In at Georgia with a 168/2.95. I think anyone with a 165+ should be deemed at least "consider" there regardless of GPA. I got accepted a week and a half after applying, so it seems like those numbers were good enough for an auto admit.

Deny @ GULC, got in with a lot of financial aid and am a scholarship alternate. Too many people obsess about numbers, there's a lot more to you than your GPA and LSAT.

Re: You were considered a"Deny" by LSP but actually got in!!!
Not sure what you are talking about cause I have a higher GPA and LSAT then that and LSP has me as a deny at several and Im a splitter and a double urm. I understand LSP is pretty unreliable for URM splitters but please dont just make stuff upGeetar Man wrote:LSP does NOT know what to do with URM splitters. Re: You were considered a"Deny" by LSP but actually got in!!!
2.7/168 non-URM
Deny at George Washington, W&M.
Weak consider at Cardozo.
I think LSP is just not good with splitters in general.
Also, yea, URM deserve their boost.

Congrats. I got dinged very fast, 2.7, 163. I used to go there. Enjoy Boulder.Lindsey4468 wrote:LSP said I would be denied at Colorado, Connecticut and Penn State. I got into all three- Colorado with a 30K scholarship, and Penn State also with a 30K scholarship. Going to Colorado next year!

LSP said I'd get dinged pretty much everywhere I applied, what with the 2.7. They were right about Colorado, but somehow I got in at Wisconsin. Still trying to figure it out, but I won't question it.

171/3.45 - DENY at Duke, but I've just put down a seat deposit.
I was also waitlisted/we-don't-call-it-waitlisted at my other denies (HCCN). Contrary to TLS conventional wisdom, they really do read the applications... I put a lot of effort into mine and had a good year with lots of choices, while my equally-indexed "they get my personal statement and my $16, that's it" friend had a really rough cycle.

Yea, I think they do pay attention to the applications. I don't think I would've gotten into GW (with $25k/year scholarship) with 2.7 had it not been for my carefully written explanation of why I got the low GPA.DaleCooper wrote:171/3.45 - DENY at Duke, but I've just put down a seat deposit.

LSP had me a deny everywhere but a weak consider at Syracuse.
Denied on LSP but got in:
Hofstra
UoP
Depaul
Loyola Chicago
Denied on LSP but waitlisted
Seattle
Louisville
Chicago-Kent
I am going to Loyola Chicago and I think that acceptance had everything to do with my community service and involvement in the Catholic church, and very little to do with my numbers.
