Re: New Hampshire Law
Hey all. I got into UNH law in Jan with 17k scholarships. I have a general question about intellectual property and a non science background and attending UNH.
How difficult is IP with a business economics background and will I be hired anywhere? I see so many engineering and science majors working here and I want to know if I should be looking elsewhere. The only reason I would go to UNH is if there is some future for me in intellectual property. Does UNH prepare students without science backgrounds to be competitive?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You won't be able to take the patent bar without a hard science/engineering degree.samtheclam1 wrote:Hey all. I got into UNH law in Jan with 17k scholarships. I have a general question about intellectual property and a non science background and attending UNH.

Does anyone have any idea what the chances are of getting into biglaw from UNH?

Negligible, I would guess.ab633 wrote:Does anyone have any idea what the chances are of getting into biglaw from UNH?
Edit: It appears that FP/UNH outperforms its ranking in placing IP lawyers in jobs outside of NH/VT, but it's still a TTT, overall (although improving). It'd have to outperform its ranking by a heck of a lot to place very many students in biglaw.

I got in about a month back w/ $15k/yr scholarship.
I have an engineering degree and am interested in IP, hence why I applied to the school.
