Hey guys, didn't see this thread...sort of a support group for everyone who was WL'd at Penn and hoping to somehow miraculously get in before August...

I was UCR 1/14 --> 1/18 --> WL 1/21

No one else who got WL'd wants to share??

i do, but i don't know what to share other than despair...

I'm basically just counting it as a rejection...

I know...I'm gonna stay on but idk how it's gonna be when people from last year didn't even have their decision by the middle of August or something...that's when orientations start lol

so i still don't get how WL work, could you accept another offer while still remain on the WL or is that like WL-violation#1??

No you can put deposits down at other schools and withdraw (and forfeit that money ) if you get off the WL

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Plus if I wait, I'll be able to talk about new stuff I'm doing in school now that I didn't mention in my original application.

exactly! Even though I won't be doing anything new

I wonder what the chances are to be accepted off of the wait list @ Penn. But I guess that all depends on what this year's applicant pool decides to do.

I just called them. They can't say how many people are on the wait list, because it is "constantly changing".

Anyone heard anything new? Anybody been accepted off the wailtlist for Penn yet?

Oh, and just wondering...Penn's WL letter says they start reviewing in MID-May...as in they're waiting two weeks after everyone else starts reaching out to WL people? What's the point of delaying?
Kind of frustrating since I've been accepted off the WL somewhere else, and now I'm struggling whether to accept that vs where I've deposited now. I'd love to throw Penn into that decision mix -- can you accept a spot off a WL and then still remain on a WL for a another school?

I'm surprised this forum is so sparse! Over at the HLS WL forum, its convo. central -- everyone gets riled up and needs to know what's goin on 24/7!
