is it smart to use a huge scholarship to one school as leverage at a higher ranked school? or is this not a smart idea all around?

I think it depends on the schools, but never hurts to try.

Exactly. I've heard of admissions offers being revoked, but not for attempts at negotiation. I have already tried to negotiate for more $ with one school. I was unsuccessful, but they were really nice about it, and explained why, etc. No big deal.

What do you mean? If you haven't heard back from them, there's nothing to negotiate, right? I don't think I get what you're asking.

you cant negotiate off a waitlist. If you are on one at a school you want to attend. you need to send a letter of continued interest ( LOCI), a why X essay, re take the LSAT, or hope that people who got accepted decided to go somewhere else. Dont count on anyone moving from teh waitlist until April at the very earliest. BE prepared to wait until the summer, and to lose your seat deposit at another school if you sent one in.

Oh...Okay...I'm not sure how if they would take this into account with your initial decision or not...I've never heard of anyone doing this. As far as getting off the wait list, prevailing TLS wisdom is to send a letter of continued interest. For this, if you even mention other schools, it would be something along the lines of "I have been admitted to 'x' law school, but you remain my top choice."
