Normal for schools to call and congrats some and not all?

I've seen on Numbers that a particular school has been calling to congrats people on being accepted ("got a call today from ****, accepted). But the same school just updated my status checker to show admitted, but never called.

Note: The status checker says I'll be receiving an email with acceptance and scholly info if applicable. Some people that posted they got a call didn't receive a scholly, so it's not like it's just for being getting money right?

Anyone have the same experience? I want that damn call! :x

Schools each have their own policy for notifying admits. Most, I belive, generally don't call. BU does call almost everyone, I believe, but everywhere else I've gotten in has been via email or status checker.

Edit: Cardozo called me too.

Yes, that's correct (spoken like Chris Farley in Billy Madison, when he's strip-tutoring Billy)

Berkeley only called some, no one has received scholarships yet. 4 out of my 5 have been calls, it is very exciting!

I've received one call from Northeastern, but they called me after they already emailed me to notify me that I was in. Duke emailed me. Georgetown mailed me.

All the schools that I applied to that call have WL'd or rejected me. I guess they do not want to speak to me.
