What are my chances? Georgetown PT program, binding ED, 162 retook to 166, 3.47 cum GPA, 3.55 degree granting institution
LOR from gtown law alum, good softs

any chance??

I'm thinking out. GULC seems to be making PT harder and harder (though slightly easier than FT) so that they can keep their medians.

I think the 166 gives OP a shot but I wouldn't count on it.

WL today at GULC PT with a 3.0/167. URM Hispanic (Non-Mexican, Non-PR).

Just thought I would add this info for what it's worth.

I applied ED to both PT and FT with a 169, 3.4 and was waitlisted. Had good WE and LORs. The process isn't exact, so they could like you more than me for whatever reason they choose, however, it seems that Gtown is being pretty stingy with acceptances to applicants with below a 170, even for PT.

Also, from what I've heard, the PT program is supposed to be getting a lot more competitive, as schools now have to report their PT numbers along with their full time numbers to USNWR. Or maybe this already happened, but for some reason it seems like I heard that this change was this cycle. So, chances are probably not great, though could be worth an application.

Very unlikely. I would say no chance. Retake again.

Technically you mean "non-URM Hispanic."

You don't get URM status if you are, say, honduran or guatemalan?

Other Hispanics have, anecdotally, gotten small (sometimes decent) boosts depending on the school. However, those boosts are not nearly as uniform or as large as those afforded to MX/PR.

Hard to say. Perhaps the bump depends on the school and their Hispanic enrollment. I'm also a Non-Trad candidate in that I have been out of UG for 10 years.

Regardless, it doesn't look like I got a bump at GULC PT!

I think I have a tiny outside chance but I'm not getting my hopes up or anything. Got into GW as hard science/engr so I'm satisfied.

The point is that URM = AA/NA/MX/PR because of the consistency and size of their bump. Lumping others in there just makes it confusing when attempting to read a site like LSN or AdmissionsDean and non-URM's sometimes classify themselves as URM's. It's not to be mean, it is merely that it makes it harder for URM's to evaluate their chances due to the dilution.

And yes, other hispanics have gotten boosts, but as I said earlier it is not nearly as uniform and consistent and in many cases does not exist at many schools.

I think it was posted that they are reducing the number of part time spots and increasing the full time numbers which might make it more difficult to get in.
