Reapplying with exact same stats

hypothetically speaking, if i get reject to my top choices (loyola, pepperdine [3.3,162]) this year, can I reapply for the 2012 cycle in order to take advantage of the rolling admissions with the exact same stats (i.e. not retaking lsat, or any changes in GPA).

In other words, do law schools look down on the fact that you are reapplying with the same stats?

s the reason i feel that i will be rejected for this cycle is due to the lateness of of application...i am still waiting on a transcript and will barely be meeting the feb 1 deadline.

I feel as if this is a reasonably common questions. however i could not find any threads/sources on it. any links or advice would be appreciated.

I went through this same scenario last cycle. I applied to all my schools in February/March 2010 and didn't' get into any. I applied this cycle in September with the same stats. I haven't heard back from the schools yet, but I will keep you updated.

although rolling admissions does make an impact on when you apply (strike that---reverse it) i know that schools still keep spots open all the way through the cycle, so it's not like if you apply after january you're totally screwed. if the school wants you, they'll let you in. but if you'd like to reapply with the same stats, i'd find some sort of short term work with americorps or overseas or something and tell them you wanted to do some "life experience" work before you went back to school, so you took another year off.

If you wind up needing to reapply next cycle anyway, why not study hard and retake the LSAT? If I decided to wait till next cycle, I'd definately retake to up my chances..

I've applied twice, the first time in December, the second time in September. Same stats, but better PS/individual essays.

First time:

Harvard: Rejected
Columbia: WL
NYU: WL
Chicago: Rejected
Berkeley: Rejected
UVA: WL
Duke: WL
Georgetown: Accepted
UCLA: WL

Second time:

Harvard: Rejected
Columbia: ED Deferred
NYU: Accepted
Chicago: Pending
Berkeley: Accepted
MVP: Pending
Duke: Priority Reserve
Georgetown: Accepted
UCLA: Pending
UT: Accepted
Vandy: Accepted

So the salient difference was getting into NYU and Berkeley. We'll see about Chicago tomorrow.

your numbers are great. just remember that loyola and pepperdine get like 5000+ applications, and since they only really care about rankings which is made up of LSAT and GPA, they might take longer to respond to you. I think you have a good shot reapplying though. Good luck
