Just wondering when one can begin to expect to hear back from UNLV Boyd. Hopefully I won't catch too much flak here for starting a thread about a lowly tier 2 school.

I applied as a safety since graduating from a NV high school gives me residency. I sent in on 11/6, was complete 11/8 and am in review as of yesterday.

Do you think they normally do in state students first? I've been sitting complete since 11/5.

Thanks for taking questions! Overall, how happy are you with the program and your decision to attend UNLV? What is their sports/entertainment or gaming law class/program selection like?
Thank you again.

Application was Complete on 11/29/10, and status just changed to "In Review". Anyone have a timeline once it goes "in review"?
Thanks!

I wanted to apply there as a safety because I love the city of Vegas (more than just The Strip) but it doesnt look like they waive the app fee for people who have the LSAC waiver (like every other school in the country does.) I tried e-mailing them a few days ago to acquire a waiver but have not heard back. grrrr

From what I read on their website, they don't waive their application fee. Bummer.

Well, I don't have any other law program to compare my experience here to, but I am very happy with my decision to come here.
As far as their sports, entertaining, and gaming selections, I am not the best person to ask. You can find the course selections at the course catalog on their website, I think. They have the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, which hosts a lot of events, such as weekly bowling and flag football, but those are just for fun. I know there have been two interesting events put on by gaming law people, 1) Howard Lederer and Annie Duke came here to talk about dispute resolution (they are professioanl poker players), and 2) there was some all-day gaming law seminar that I didn't attend.
As far as the program as a whole, it is often a mixed bag, but overall positive. All I can say is that I don't think you can love all your professors and all of their teaching styles, they are all different people. Most of them are great.

Been stuck at "received" since 11/1, and just went to review today. So we'll see what happens there. Best of luck to everyone else!

I couldn't contain myself so I called and the official stance is most people won't get a decision until after the app deadline.

Got a call from a nice guy in the admissions office today. He asked if there was anything I wanted passed along to the committee or if I had any questions. Caught me off guard but was nice. Said the majority of decisions come after mid March.
Anyone else get a call?

Nope, no call for me...still sitting at UR 11/15

I'm just accepting the fact that my decisions are never coming....
Or at least not before Christmas...
ETA: Just got the call. Reiterated what was said above, and that scholarship offers are included with the offer of admission, and some acceptances would be going out before the March 15th deadline.

It wasn't an acceptance call, just a call asking if I wanted to pass along any info with my application or if I had any questions. You were accepted via email? Congrats! What were your stats?
