Ha! I don't know if I should be lying to the big guy (gal-- whatever your belief may be). I'll be putting some extra time at the church, maybe get the admin office to put an "acceptance from UNLV" as part of the mass intentions. I'll make sure to include you too.BoydorBust wrote:Put in a good word for me. I have a volunteer gig at UNLV next week, maybe I'll stop by and ask them a few questions.
Unfortunately, I am such a selfless, humble guy that I chose not to write about that in my PS.

Well I guess anything is worth a try, you should ask santa too, that would be as plausible as church. But seriously, I hope we all get in and I wish you all luck.lawforme22 wrote:Ha! Here the weather is around 75 and sunny at this present time. When you say dog friendly do you mean like parks or are you looking for a dog friendly apartment?CmonSD wrote:Sooooooo what's the weather like today?? Jealous! I was thinking apartments and such, but I would love to be in a complex/area by a dog park.callen7828 wrote:Here the weather is around 75 and sunny at this present time. any particular part of town you are looking for? If you like the south area I would say its best to live in henderson/green valley area, I am sure there are complexes with dog parks there.CmonSD wrote:Jealous! No particular area. I don't really know anything really except for the strip and the school. I have been looking on craigslist but I don't know what's good.

well I would definitely say that the green valley area which is near sunset station casino is a very nice safe area, everything is newer and clean and anything you need is convenient.CmonSD wrote:No particular area. I'd look around the zip codes 89123, 89074, 89052, 89183, or 89141. Dog parks are plentiful around here and most apartments will allow pets so long as they are under a certain weight.

I think I'm going to take a year off and attempt to get better opportunities or more $$$ from the same schools. I have begun to study for the lsat again and my average is about 165ish+ after like 10 tests now (i scored 159 on the Oct lsat).
It's a gamble though.

Here are the latest employment stats from Boyd:
--LinkRemoved--
Encouraging numbers. But they don't seem to match what everyone says about the legal job market in NV or nationally. Any guesses on the discrepancy? I know it is widely reported in forums that law schools tweak their numbers, but...this much?

Re: UNLV 2011
I know this is going to come across as tons of unsubstantiated jargin, but I read an article that basically claimed that in the legal community just about as many lawyers that pass the bar end up retiring that same year, so that there is a slow gain to the professions. That being said I do believe that a good percentage of people end up employed upon graduating from Boyd, but their pay may vary quite a bit. It's not uncommon for people to have a job lined up in their second summer so that upon graduating they go right into employment, what I would be more interested in is the number of people who are still employed 1 or 2 years AFTER lawschool ends.figaro wrote:Here are the latest employment stats from Boyd:

Re: UNLV 2011
I hope I get a decision this week. It's been a solid 4 months since I've been in review and I'd really like to end this cycle so I can decide on a school and be on my way. ::sigh::
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
