Any wait list movement? I have gotten desperate at this point. I only really have a few more days to hold on.

There is a University of San Diego School of Law Class of 2014 Facebook group (that long name is the title of the group). I think some people got together last night for margs/tacos. I am sure there will be plenty more get togethers before orientation!

Congrats! Will you be attending? If so, you should join the class of 2014 facebook group :). People have been discussing meet ups, and roomates!

I know this wasn't directed to me, but when I was admitted off of the waitlist, I found out about my admission through a financial aid email, and then the admissions packet through mail.

If I am not admitted by 5pm today I will be with drawing. Kinda makes me sad.

Signed a lease and today is the last day I can get out of it with out any consequence.

How does this school compare to Santa Clara?

Santa Clara would be better for high tech type of law I imagine. USD is definitely better if you want to practice in San Diego.

I am in. I want to do insurance litigation. I ideally want to work on the ca coast in the bay or SD. Most importantly I want to have a job

Wow, according to the salary info from 2009, there is a world of difference between the two:

Did your status change on the status checker once your waitlist status changed? I would literally go to USD if they let me in the day before classes start!!

Good luck to everyone. I went there for undergrad. It's an awesome place. I can't answer a lot of questions about the law school but I know a lot about the school and area in general if anyone is curious.

Where are the good places to live? What rent range would indicate that it is a good place?

There is no shortage of good places to live in SD. In terms of rent there is a wide range. You can find places from $500 all the way to $1200 and higher. The cheaper you want the lower the quality and one bedrooms for very cheap are not necessarily available.
-The Manchester Apartments on campus are pretty nice as far as graduate housing goes. They are four individual rooms as well as a common area with new appliances and furniture. I think the rent is somewhere around $900-$1000.
-Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are the two most popular places to live. You can find almost anything around this area for any price. For the weak-willed PB and Mission are very tough though: the beach is always calling you away from studying.
-Mission Valley is also a nice, it's about five to ten minutes east of USD.
-Downtown is a very cool place especially the gaslamp district, and it is only ten to fifteen minutes away from campus. The options downtown tend to be a little more expensive.

Those are the main areas people live. There are also a areas very close to campus but those tend to be, IMO, not all the nice.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
